Trust me. The strip is the jewel of that city. And that's not saying much.
I have a cousin who moved from SA to LV as he tried to pursue acting. Why Vegas and not LA? I don't know. Anyway, that failed for him after starring in a few indie movies and getting nowhere. But he found a good job there. Still lives there. Actually pretty far from the strip.
I've been there three times.
Once you get out of the strip/downtown area... it's pure evil sprawl of the worst kind.
