Federal court pays well, iirc.
Municipal court $6, iirc
Are you sure it's $40 for the first day? Most of the time I've had jury summons the first day was something pathetic like $6 and you got more for day 2 and beyond.

The $40.00 is just a rumor I've heard around the office and I think that's only once you are part of a jury but I have no idea. If I can get my normal pay at work and add whatever chump change to it for serving, then I'm not against that at all.
I got ten bucks for serving on a trial, and it came in six weeks later.
I've never wasted more than 3 hours at jury duty; I just donate the check to that kids' shelter they suggest.
I refuse to donate the money. Most of the times I've went, it's lasted minimum 6 hours. ers are paying me!
I do what I can to get out of it. I've never had jury duty in my life.
I was on a murder trial jury with another guy and 8 women. The defense
lawyer was very good. He was able to get half of the women to hate the victims wife
more than the murderer. It was like a TV show where there was shouting in the
jury room and plenty of hard feelings to go around. We found him guilty but the
sentencing was just as bad. I hate the time I was there so much that when i get
called for jury duty i fill out the information form with a big MURDER letters when they ask
if i ever was on a jury before. Another thing I do now is when the are interviewing you for a jury
and ask if it is ok with you if if the defendant doesn't testify I say no he needs to step up and testify
on his own behalf. They sometimes flip out when you say that.
I hate how lawyers on both sides ask everybody the same question over and over again during jury pools. When they reword the questions to get the answers they want, they just make things confusing for the jurors. I had to sit through six+ hours of that on my last day.
Living in Cali it's real easy to get out if it, ya simply say..."everytime I'm called in it's always some Mexican guy"...boom you're gone.
I have just been "randomly selected" for jury duty AGAIN! 25 ing months later! my life! Unless I get to sit in on a Robert Durst trial, I don't give a . It'll probably be another illegal possession of a firearm trial.
Are you even eligible after only 25 months?
The city of New Orleans seems to ing think so.
In California, I think if you actually get on a trial, it is 3 years. If you don't you are eligible in 1 year. I could be wrong about the 3 years part though.
Tell em you're a stay at home Dad.. It's no questions asked here in San Antonio with that one..that or you're a racist.
Anyone else here been on call for federal jury duty? happened to me last November for the entire month. I never got summoned, but wondering each Sunday if this is the week they summon you is horrible bull . I couldn't make concrete out of town plans for Thanksgiving.
Ugh I hate jury duty. Sometimes if u register online they will immediately dismiss you if they already have enough people
