Seriously, how many finals have the Celtics beaten the Lakers in? Like 9 or 10 or something like that?

Spurs have NEVER defeated the Lakers in the WCF. Now that's worthy of

Mavs - Mainly because all the bad blood and Cuban's comments about the city of San Antonio in general. There is nothing that satisfies me more than seeing that gay bas sitting on the sideline moping during a loss. Make it happen SA!

Sorry Spur fans but the Lakers own you guys plain and simple. Its not a rivalry to them

Too bad the Lakers haven't won an NBA le since 2002, whereas the Spurs have won 3.

Lakers can't get past the Eastern conference!

Spurs have no rivals because they are past their prime, when they were on top the Lakers were their only rival, period. Hopefully they can reload with some youth next season or two because the window is closing shut.

It's obviously the Lakers. In the last 10 years, Spurs/Lakers has decided the le 4 times and the conference 6.

At least Yankee Fan has a reason to talk as they far and away the best baseball team in history.

The Lakers are not....the Celtics are. Yet the Lakers talk more than any other two teams fans combined.

I remember being told Celtic Fan was the biggest in pro-Sports and that I would see it as soon as the Celtics won a le...

That simply hasn't been the case. Sure there are few more Celtic doucebags than there were before, but it's not an infestation like it becomes when the Lakers win.

When the Lakers win you will not find a Spurs board or basketball board that isn't infested with incredibly stupid bag Laker Fans that know nothing about the game.
Your right. The Celts have won more but not by much. Face it, the 2 most storied franchises in NBA history is, are, have been and will always be the Lakers and Celtics. Nobody comes close not even the Bulls. The Spurs? Good team, in fact, some damn great teams but not even that brings them close to the history of the Lakeshow and the Beantown boys. The Spurs haven't been around longer than the Lakers and Celts? And? Who cares? Should give you more reason not to beat your chest in comparison to the most celebrated teams (especailly the Lakers). Besides, the league thought it important enough that all NBA fans, no matter who they root for, wear a Laker. Next time you wear your Spurs jersey take a look at the little logo guy on your shirt. You've carried a Laker with you all this time and you didn't even know it.

    Thanks for your Laker support!!

Precisely! You hit it on the nail Mavs fan.

Lakers go after the bigger fish in the NBA. Not to say the Spurs haven't broken our hearts cause they sure have (see Fish and Kobe sobbing videos...lol) but our true and only rival will always be Boston. THEY are our rival. That rivalry goes back 30-40 years. Spurs our rival? Nah....

Good team that got some les and some good hall of famers (David Robinson is a personal favorite of mine just for what he stands for) but that's about it. In about 2-3 years this silly talk about SPURS-LAKER rival will be a moot point.

the Lakers are hard to rival with, because they've benefited strictly from the location of the franchise, and not the actual people running it(don't mention Minneapolis, it's a completely different time with a little amount of teams)..

they got Wilt because he wanted to be around other celebrities, they got Kareem because he wanted to play in a major city, Shaq signed there for the location, Kobe demanded to be drafted there..I defend the Gasol trade, but it's still iffy..

Wilt contributed 1 le, Kareem was huge in the 80s les, and Shaq-Kobe got them 3 les in a row..

it's tougher for other teams that actually have to build teams, instead of benefiting from the location of the franchise..

also, the Lakers "owning" us is bull ..we've only played them twice when both teams were around the same level, 2003 and 2008..they beat us last year, we beat them in 2003..

it's not really the Spurs fault that we couldn't play them in 2005, 2006, and 2007, because they weren't good enough to make it anywhere, and Kobe was crying and asking for a trade..

the Lakers were supposed to beat us in the early 2000s, they were just better..Duncan and a lesser supporting wasn't enough to do beat a team with 2 top 5 players..LA was always favored to beat us, even in 2003..

when the Spurs and Suns played, both teams were around the same level, and the Suns were favored in some of the series'..
