It's funny that Lakerfan says that Kobe was "off balance" when he kicked Battier in the face, but he's only off balance because he's holding onto the ball. The only reason for Kobe to hold onto the ball in that situation is so he can kick Battier in the face and have an excuse. That's as intentionally dirty as anything Bruce Bowen has ever done in his career, and everybody ing knows it.

I'm not sure why a Lakers fan would say that. Pissed off Kobe either stops playing altogether or shoots the ball 45 times and scores 43 points. I'd love to see him do that once again in a must-win game.

He's already running on fumes, he's gonna excert so much energy that he'll have nothing left if they make the finals

Puh-leeze. Last time Kobe was pissed, he refused to shoot in the second half of a game seven. He doesn't suddenly become a great facilitator or an encouraging teammate when he's angry. Maybe he becomes a huge ball-hog, at which point you have to pray he's also having a good shooting night.

A great player getting pissed off is overatted. That crap only happens in the heat of the moment but after the game its over with. What the is a pissed off Kobe going to do that he hasn't done already. Besides whenever Kobe has gotten angry he hasn't played well. I remember back when Bruce was younger and would get underneath Kobe's skin that he would be mentally out of the game. MJ really is the only player I can ever recall fearing when he got angry but nobody else.

At least Coach Pop knows better...

MySA.com: [bold]Don’t even look him in the eye.[/bold]

Popovich watched the Lakers victory over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night, including Kobe Bryant’s 18-point fourth quarter that followed a trash-talking contest with Rockets defensive ace Ron Artest.

His players, he said, knew better than to antagonize Bryant.

“We don’t want any Artest stuff,” he said before tipoff. Don’t even look him in the eye.

Pissing Kobe off in the game is about the worst thing you can do. I've watched this guy play in nearly every game since he's been a Laker, you guys simply don't know what you're talking about.

Did you see Kobe get pissed off when Billups inbounded the ball off his back and scored? Many said that "you cannot do that to Kobe, you can embarrass a rookie like that, but not Kobe, he is pissed and this game is over...". We saw how that turned out.

Did you see how furious Kobe was when Jones tripped him? He was embarrassed and owned and complaining. What happened then?

Did you see Kobe get furious in game 4 when the crowd was taunting him? You could clearly see him nodding his head and saying "alright mothaf*ckas, it is on now, alright b*tches". Even Mark Jackson mentioned it. That was in the 3rd quarter when they were down by 11, then the lead ballooned to almost 20 and they lost.

There are plenty of examples both ways and if he has a good game it won't be because he is "pissed".
