    Yeah, 50 years is pretty impressive, all things considered. I never had him pegged as someone who was going to grow old.

It was one of the first to cross from the R&B charts to the Pop charts, due to Eddie Van Halen's solo on Beat It. The sales were outrageous, everyone bought it. MTV was new, the videos from Thriller were unlike anything we'd seen.

    He had a lot of personal issues we may never understand, but his talent was incredible.

    Yeah I barely remember the thriller video with him turning into a beast, and thinking at the time "wow how did they do that!"

    I remember though Beat it coming out as a kid, and it just being constantly requested time and time and time again.
