Big Dog is he plays well, just adds to the big ball or small ball game the Spurs can play. We can play big with him or we can play smallwith him as well.
Transition?
He can't keep up with Tony, Manu, etc.

This was a big shock to me. I am gonna miss Glover. He was a good fight, while he lasted. I hope to see him back in the summer camp or what ever.
Transition doesn't always mean running ahead of everyone.
Just being able to do something without setting a play up.
I live in Philly and also lived near him in Madison WI - remember GR was a Spur killer in some games for the Bucks.
Also, he never really got a chance in Philly IMO this year. O'Brien is a strange coach who pre-determined that GR was not going to start, that plus injuries led to him leaving.
However, this guy has friggin talent if motivated!
something close = trailing and being ready to shoot that midrange j.He can't keep up with Tony, Manu, etc.
No one outside of Wilks can keep up with Tony.
this sounds like insurance against Devin being out for the year to me, but it's just a hunch.
Exactly.
If he can get to the wing or outside the arch and launch a shot (and make it) that will just add to the Spurs.
1.He was great for Milwaukee.
2. He's been injured, do you honostly think the Sixers would trade GR for Rodney Rogers?
Beno
Brent
Robinson
Horry
Nazr/Marks
That's good offense!
But ugly defense!
Wow. I guess we'll see how much of a mulligan he got with respect to conditioning at warmups for the next game. If he's managed to stay in shape, I'll be impressed... errr... make that I'll think more of him than I do now.
ps - I wonder if any fans will protest the nickname "Big Dog" since Antione Carr had it here first...![]()
He does have off-court sins alleged. The NBA suspended Robinson for three games in 2003 after he was found guilty of domestic battery and assault against his former fiancee.
Robinson was sentenced to one year probation and was ordered to undergo anger management counseling.

I would have laid money on the line saying GR would never have been a Spur. I would have lost. Weird.
Hidden Agenda?
Played for Karl and has a grudge against him, knows his plays on offense and defense and would like nothing better than to beat a Karl coached team?
How do you know this? There is no way the spurs would drop a guy who was already with the team for a guy who is out of shape or injured. I am not sure I like Robinson better than Glover, but I am sure he is ready to play if we want him.
My first thought when I saw this. "Must have been posted on April 1st."
I couldn't agree any more with what TimVP has said in this thread, and in another one pertaining to the Spurs signing anybody that they want, regardless of their character, at least I think TimVP said that, it may have been Whott....
So yes I agree that whatever he gives us is gravy, we already have fifty plus wins this season, in Philly they were counting on him to do a lot for them, here he's a role player.
If he does have bad habbits and sub-par defense this is a good place to be, nothing can motivate a guy more than a legitimate chance at a ring and nobody can erase a defensive mistake better than Tim/Rasho....
I think people are mostly shocked because I can't recall the last time the Spurs made any remotely significant move this late in the season, just like we were a bit shocked when they traded Malik, there is always talk but the Spurs don't usually do much come trade time.
Glenn is a good addition to this team....
There's been a lot of trades that don't make sense in the salary cup/luxury tax era. He's been injured, do you honostly think the Sixers would trade GR for Rodney Rogers?
, look at what Boston got Antoine Walker from Atlanta for.
The only thing I can remember close to this was in late April of 1990, when the Spurs waived Zarko Paspalj and signed Mike Mitc right before the playoffs. He was a former great midrange shooting Forward, over the hill but seasoned.
This isn't quite like that but similar timing. That's the year the Spurs lost to the Blazers in 7 games.
Yes, considering the coach. He's been injured, do you honostly think the Sixers would trade GR for Rodney Rogers?
A lil off topic but...
I live in Madison. Where near Madison did you live?
I think this is going to be another case of promising potentiality bad actuality
While I'm not sure what it means, as far as them signing a backup SF, I'd read it as they need a guy to help spell Bruce. If Devin is not as durable when he returns, they'll need to reduce his minutes. From that standpoint it makes sense.
I googled him and found "not a great locker room presence" or something like that. Am I being a nerd for wondering if this could cause trouble?
He wasn't the best of teammates at the end of his stint in Milwaukee, but neither was anyone else there.I googled him and found "not a great locker room presence" or something like that. Am I being a nerd for wondering if this could cause trouble?
And nobody on the Spurs is going to let a 12th (or 13th or 14th) man cause trouble. He'd be waived before that happened.
