Maniac Mansion... I never finished that game![]()
I remember being 9-10 years old, playing this game and really trippin out. I recall you'd travel to Mars and some alien machine would attack you or something like that, but you had no weapons..? feel like DLing it now. The puzzles in this game were pretty difficult too.
A couple of my own contributions: Goldeneye was the first 3D FPS I played and after already playing tons of Doom, it dawned on me that I was going to be wasting many years of my life with the genre. The zeldas were another huge part of my 90's, as well as the Final Fantasy's. I played and beat 2 of the Dragon Quest games but always considered FF a superior franchise.
How could I forget:
Countless hours blowing mother ers up in this game back in grade 9.
Spiderman Venom: Maximum Carnage
All the Donkey Kong Countries
Final Fantasy 7
Looney Tunes BBall
Marvel Super Heroes in the War of Gems
Just to name a few...
I still have my Warcraft 2 cd
Oh man...
I started console gaming when I was like 4 years old back in the 80's, with the Atari 2600. I had games like ET (OMFG) and Adventure.....
kept console gaming in the 90's with Nintendo, SNES, Genesis, N64.. then i moved to PC gaming around 1997.
I started playing Battlecity, NexusTK : The Kingdom of the Winds (one of first MMORPG's), ARC (attack retrieve capture), Warcraft 2, Age of Empires, QUAKE.. Starcraft....
To this day, the best online time I ever had was Quake. What an amazing game, I loved Quake CTF.
Now that I think of it, the ONLY game that has come close to replicate Quake's greatness at CTF is Team Fortress 2....
good times....
now that I think of it
why isn't there any ing game out on Xbox 360 and Ps3 that is solely focused on amazing multiplayer?
Call of Duty games have Capture the flag, but the game is not really suited for it.
Halo games have capture the flag, but again, it feels bulky and not suited for it.
Call of Duty also has Counter-Strike style fun with Search and Destroy, but again, it's not nearly as fun as it is playing Counter-Strike. "HEADSHOT" ..."DDDDDOOMINATING"......... "SOMEBODY SET UP US THE BOMB"....
plus the maps were ing awesome. de_dust and de_dust2, cs_assault....
why the are the maps on Modern Warfare 2 so lame in comparison? there are no secret entrances, no air condition vents to crawl through...
The maps aren't even good for Capture the flag. Quake CTF was ing amazing... and also, Quake CTF with Runes....
We need a game that brings back old school. this is bull
castlemania or whatever it was on those old commodore64s or apples from the late 80s...
the game where you go through dungeons looking for keys to go through another door...fkn lame...
Unreal tournament was the for me back in the day. "Anybody else want some?"
Tie Fighter too, I loved that game.
Dude that game was ahead of its time. some people just don't appreciate good fast moving graphics and action. You could get mentally and physically addicted to the game as you try to complete each level. I still have lines on the side of my face from squinting, and my wrist and back will never be the same.
Also Thief II the metal age is underrated.
That game had many secrets and hidden rooms, you need to be stealth like Splinter cell and you had to know how to use a bow and arrow. You stole and each level was like a whole new game. I talk to many people who gave up on the game and didn't find it fun because they don't want to take time and learn it, they rather just hurry up and kill something.
That game is on my top 5 list easy along with Riven.

Speaking of old games....anybody remember SkiFree?
That damn snowman got me every time.
Sad to say, I never understood how to play that game on the computer.![]()
I don't know if anyone remember A Boy and his Blob and Friday the 13th, but I do. Those two games used to always bug the sh#$ out of me. Also, two of the very few games I was unable to beat in my youth.
God, I hated the ing rock that flew over every enemy's head when you threw it.

this game i was never able to beat. maybe its because we only rented it ass kids but yeah Ducktales
I know this thread is 4 pages long, but I got through 1 page and saw no mention of R-Type. This game and its sequels are proof that the Japanese hate American kids.
You are totally right! I used to play the heck outta warcraft II. I still play a lot of Warcraft III on battlenet. I don't really like RPGs so I am not interested in WOW. Strategy games are where its at.
You should play online, my handle is drachen.
Loved this game. Also loved its cousin Master of Magic.
The Super Star Wars trilogy. Specifically, the Empire Strikes Back.
Still loved the games though...even if they were hard as .
