I bought those online from a place that did HDR photos on stretched canvas. They were extremely cheap($79/each) and very cool. Sadly, they went out of business years ago. IIRC, it was run by a 22 year old art history major so it doesn't surprise me. Their page has been under construction for over a year so it looks dead in the water.

So I installed a shaker tonight. It's a semi-wireless kit that allows me to hide the amp behind the couch. Just watched The Losers and this little thing makes the experience that much more immersive. And the painter's tape is to cover where my dumbass fell into the couch.

Specs say down to 5 Hz but that'd be with some serious, audible bottoming out. Sounds like someone is hitting it with a hammer.

I get usable output to roughly 12-15 Hz, which works well since I use a 10 Hz high-pass filter on my sub EQ to protect my subs and the shaker is also in that signal chain. The HPF is nice because it also boosts 15-25 by 3-5 dBs. There will also be an in-line low-pass filter(FMOD) at 50 Hz to restrict the shaker.

Still some dialing in to do this weekend.

I don't know if you're into The Orb. It's ambient, spacey, atmospheric, tripped out music. Anyway, when I first got into audiophile stuff I read in a mag that a good way to test your boom is to play the first track off their Orgus Terranus disc. Boy, was it. The whole album is good, but that first track is moving lots of air.

Don't know The Orb and couldn't find the album you referred. A good organ track will go down to 16 Hz with authority.

For HT, the window blow-out scene in Cloverfield is recommended as is How to Train Your Dragon, in its entirety.

The giant dragon crash scene in HTTYD has content down to 3 Hz, which is a system killer. Many o' subs have gone into protection mode playing that scene.
