Spurs have a bigger point differential, have their great three healthy and have absolutely pummeled great teams in the last few months (i.e. clobbering the Cavs, Magic, Lakers, and Boston within 14 days and are per another thread I started going to pummel the over hyped and still soft Mavs. Spurs in 5. Actually, the more I study teh maths and teh Point Differential, the worse I feel about this series. I'm beginning to think I'll probably be taking a nice little sabbatical from this forum when it's over.

Mavs PD was heavily weighed down by the Howard cancer effect this year IMO.
Take out 12/5-ASB and Mavs PD is +4.76, much more respectable.
Only problem is that the Spurs PD over the same period was better than that. I just hope that HCA eats into the PD advantage. I wonder what the margin has to be - in 2007 Hollinger's formula had the Mavs beating the Spurs in the Conference Finals on the basis of HCA, because the Spurs superiority in PD wasn't enough to make up for it.
