She-Male: Perkins is a good role player but 5 pts, 6 rebounds, 49% shooting in the playoffs is not scary to anyone.
Is Bynum better than Howard Sandy? Ask anyone else here if they think Perkins and Bynum are a wash. Anyone. Including Laker fans.

Bynum and Perkins will be a wash IMO. This is a good thing for the Lakers. In 2008 they didn't have that.

I agree Fisher's defense will be a problem. If he guards Allen I think Allen will go off. But if Pierce is limited by Artest, I don't see Allen being able to carry the team. I'd rather have Allen be the leading scorer than Pierce.
Have you seen how many games we've won with Allen being the leading scorer? A few.

Have the Lakers had games from their bench like the Celtics have seen? It seems like every third game, a C's bench player steps up, whether it be Davis, Sheed, Tony Allen or in Game 6, Nate. This isn't rhetorical, I'm seriously wondering if, besides Odom, the bench has produced for the Lakers.

The more important fact is that he, for the most part, limited Howard. If he can limit Bynum the same way he limits Howard, I'm fine with whatever offensive production we get out of him.

Bynum couldn't do jack against the beastly front line of Frye and Amare, but he'll cancel out Perkins!

True. The only way it could ever be a wash is if Perkins gets suspended.

The key will be limiting Gasol and Kobe. Whatever Bynum provides is gravy. If Perkins limits Bynum's production it's not going to affect the Lakers much.

Garnett will guard Gasol. I can't wait to hear the cacophony of yells coming from Gasoft.

I feel the difference in this series is going to be the play of Pau Gasol. If we see the 2008 finals version of Gasol, LA isn't repeating. Now if we see last years and most of this years version of Gasol, LA will repeat. If Boston is able to neutralize Pau consistently, it changes everything. Kobe is going to get his.

I'll cosign this. I feel if the Celtics can limit Pau to around 12-15 pts and 7-10 rebounds, we'll take the series.
