As for the question at hand, I will say that yes it is a bad thing. You're a respected member of this on line community and there are a lot of impressionable young minds that take their cue from you. Do you really want the next generation of Spurstalkers to not care about dead pretty people?

Sex is a very intimate and personal endeavor. Men and women choose to share that experience with strangers all the time. There is a short list of possible outcomes that can result: satisfaction ( I got laid that was awesome), regret (I can not believe I slept with that person, goddamn I was sodrunk), STD (oh , my junk itches), death (I decided to share one of the most intimate human experiences with a complete stranger who I didn't know for more than a few hours and it turns out they were psychotic, oops I guess I should have gotten to know them better before rendering myself completely vulnerable to them. Now I'm dead. Whoops!)
Thisp, I agree with all these points. But, you are assuming, in this case, that Natalie Holloway made the decision to have sex with him. This hasn't been proven. Maybe she agreed to have a drink, maybe she agreed to take a walk on the beach, who knows? And maybe after that, used her best judgement and did not agree to have sex with him and that is the reason she ended up dead.

As her junior year at Lake Worth High School came to a close, Amanda Lee DeJesus went out to celebrate with her friends. But early today she died in an apparent random shooting in the El Toro Loco nightclub parking lot.
DeJesus, 17, was standing in a crowd about 1:45 a.m. outside the suburban West Palm Beach club at 1999 S. Military Trail when she was fatally wounded.
Tonight nearly 200 stunned friends and classmates gathered for a candlelight memorial at the Lake Worth Municipal Beach. Friends remembered her as an outgoing personality who loved sports and played on the school's girls soccer and flag football teams.
"She was a really sweet young girl who was really just starting to find her way as a student, as an athlete and as a woman," said Rich Dujon, the flag football coach and a teacher at Lake Worth High.
"She was caring, she always lent a helping hand to anyone in need," said Alicia Astemborski, a Lake Worth senior-to-be and a flag football teammate of DeJesus'. "You wouldn't think she'd be the one of all people. She was never rude. She was very friendly."
One person was arrested today in her death, and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is looking for three or four more suspects.
Marcus J. Perry, 19, of Royal Palm Beach, was charged with first-degree murder today, the Sheriff's Office reported.
Hours after the shooting, which led to a police chase into Lake Worth and an exchange of gunfire between deputies and at least one armed man, Perry went to the Sheriff's Office headquarters to talk to detectives.
He told them he picked up four other men to cruise for women. As they drove to the nightclub in his parents' sport utility vehicle, he said, one of the men handed him a pistol and he squeezed off two rounds on Interstate 95, according to a sworn statement for Perry's arrest by Detective Matthew Williams.
Inside the club, Perry told detectives, he and the men got into a confrontation with other men. As they went outside and walked toward the SUV, another man, not he, pulled the handgun and fired off several rounds, Perry said.
Witnesses said a man pulled a gun and fired several times into the air and at least once into the crowd, felling DeJesus with a wound to the chest, Williams said.
After speaking to Perry, detectives called on a witness who identified Perry as the gunman, Williams said.
He was taken into custody and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.
Acting on a tip, sheriff's investigators seeking three to four other men in the killing used a SWAT team to raid a house near Orleans Court Friday afternoon but found the place empty, a spokeswoman said.
The search for the men continues.
As nightfall approached, a mostly silent group gathered at the beach and lit candles to remember Amanda.
Cecile Sims, a rising senior at Lake Worth, said that DeJesus was one of the first people to introduce herself during the girls' freshman year.
"She was just an all-around person," Sims said. "She was always caring, always worrying about other people."
Lake Worth High Principal Ian Saltzman, who was reached at home, said he spoke with Amanda's mother today and sent his prayers.
"It's very tragic. I was very distraught over it this morning," he said. "My interactions with her were very positive."
At the vigil, Lake Worth High athletic director Seth Groveman said that DeJesus was looking forward to many things in her senior year.
"Next year was going to be her year," he said. "She was going to be the star. She was going to be one of the stars of soccer, one of the stars of flag football. She had her grades in order. Everything was on track and that it makes it much harder to take, When you see somebody really getting it together and maturing."

Again, bad decisions can and do lead to bad outcomes.
Going to the motel room of a person you just met is a bad decision. It doesnt mean you will die and it certainly doesnt mean you "deserve" to die because you do it.
BUT...
Dont weep for a person who makes a universally bad decision and it turns out to be their final, life-ending decision.
Does her bad decision absolve Vander of any blame whatsoever? no, guy should burn for his crimes, no question.
But his predatory nature does not absolve the victim of horrible decision-making.
Here is a thought. If neither one of these chicks went back to the hotel room of a complete and utter stranger, they'd probably both be alive. Murderous psychopath avoided by the small act of not opening your legs to every Tom, and Harry with a foreign accent and bull tales of semi-royalty.
For what it is worth I also do not give a . I have known too many people who have died in war and from disease to care about some random rich who made bad decisions in Aruba.

As far as the whole 'deserving it' thing goes-
You know why I don't go to third world countries to party and ? Because I'm afraid something bad might happen to me if I go to an impoverished nation to participate in risky behavior, with risky people. And I'm a man, age 26, with an anger problem.
So no, she didn't deserve getting murdered, but I'm sure as not going to weep for or celebrate the death and life of someone who participated in something far more sinful, selfish and risky than I'd be willing to participate in myself. My resentment is furthermore piqued by such a person being treated as if she were America's only sweetheart, robbed from all of us far too soon.
Did she deserve to die? no. But at the end of the day, that doesn't mean she wasn't just some dime-a-dozen, two-bit who should've died into total obscurity.

I think the reason she got so much coverage was...
1) lots of our white boys and girls like to travel to exotic islands for a good time, meaning it could happen to anyone's white friends
2) her body was not found
3) it was so obvious that the kid is a crazy sociopath that has had his life protected due to his father's standing in the community, it repulsed everyone into watching it unfold
4) potential for sharks having eaten the body
