are the mexicans going to some how consider a spain victory one for mexico? Its actually kinda as if native americans celebrated an england victory
Somehow thats a reason, I was for Uruguay and Germany (since I'm german thare are other reasons for this as well):
Do you really want to have new countries ---or for that matter any team in a sport--- to win it?
Isnt it more special if its a small but fine club of winners?
Say the Magic would have won the NBA le in 2009 and New Jersey would have beaten us...it would make us feel like: Hey at one time every team gets one...just wait and see! Bullets got one, Sonics have one, Heat have one and so on. but if its like 10 or less Teams that own all the rings, its way better if another team comes thorugh every 20 years, joining the party!
Spain deserves it and so does Holland, but I never liked the argument of having them win, coz they never had it!
I'm happier with having 20 more Lakers, Celtics, Bulls, Spurs, Pistons championships (even though I obvisiously hate at least one of these teams), than seeing the Bucks, Timberwolves, Warriors, Pacers, Nets and so one win one apiece.
Check out the Spanish commentators after Villa's goal against Paraguay.

I'm going for Spain since I'm part Spanish. Of course if Germany wins, I could care less. Spain is not my team, nor will it ever be. Mexico is my team, and once they're out I root for other teams to lose for the most part. Whoever invests so much into another team other than their own for whatever reason is a bandwagoner imo.
Doesn't matter though, I want whoever wins this match to end up winning the World Cup. I'm a big fan of this young German core.

I was in Zurich on June 16th and I'm in Munich today, so it's safe to say that Spain is ed.
I'm looking forward to the party on Leopoldstrasse tonight!
Yeah, when Germany sucks they "only" make it to the semis
this is what we are having for lunch today. There's a two for one special on squid in the local biergarten
Good Luck StreakyI'll be rooting for Schland o Schland today

Thanks man! I am getting really exited over here. If I would be a little closer to Munich it would have been cool to watch the game togther with a fellow Spurs fan!
It will be really really hard to win tonight but no matter what the outcome will be... nobody really expected us to go that far with that many injuries and such a young team prior to the WC.
Have a lot of fun in Munich! Hope the weather will be great! I hope we will make it to the final against the Netherlands...
I never understood that saying.
World: Brazil 5 > Germany 3
Europe: Italy 4 > Germany 3
Where in Germany are you?
I'm in MUC a lot since we opened an office here in Feb. 2009.
Deutschland, DeutschlandGood luck!!
Damn Slomo why didn't you invite?
That quote was from before Italy winning 4th and Brazil winning the 5th. Im not even sure, mayb the quote was even before the brazils 4th win in 94.
And italy winning 2 early cups 34 and 38, you cant compare anymore such a cup with one that was won against 24 or 32 teams.
Also add european championships (3 germany, 1 italy) and final/semi final appearances and you see it still has a point.
“Football is a simple game where 22 players play against each other and in the end Germany wins.”
Gary Lineker (on Germany’s win in Euro’96)
This quote is used a lot in france because of the 1982 and 1986 WC's SFs.
Anyway, it's the 1st time i'm rooting for Germany.
Well, I am pretty much in the middle of Germany. Its about 450 km to Munich. I will probably be close to Munich in about 2 months. I will let you know if I am there. Maybe we can meet up to drink a beer together...![]()
right in the middle?
me too...somehow (jena)
sorry to say. Spain is gonna get raped today.
They will once again prove why they are called the Dallas Mavericks of soccer.
