San Antonio. Family has been in Texas since the early 1800's. Technically since there is some Cherokee mixed in there, earlier than that.

I think this is somewhat a stupid move on the part of the NAACP. If there are racists in Tea Party movements, let them make fools of themselves. What's the point of denouncing something that mostly everyone agrees is abhorrent anyways?

The NAACP wants all blacks (and everyone else) to think the Tea Party movement is racist so they will not listen to them. The also want to drum up all of the minorities for 2010/2012 as they portray the tea party movement as the main opponent.

Nothing new. Politicians and "race spokespersons" wanting to keep the peoples' minds enslaved through race-baiting tactics.

It's hard to think of the Anglos/Tejanos of the 1800's as land grabbing when the Mexicans were BEGGING American immigrants to enter Tejas due to severe underpopulation by the Spanish/Mexicans during the prior 300 years.

Stephen F. Austin, anglo-texans, and Tejanos like Juan Sequin would have been fine being just another Mexican state if not for Santa Anna disregarding the Cons ution of 1824 and becoming a centralized dictator.
