That's all Dallas could do??? Just Chandler? Bobcats just got rid of an injury prone player for some cap space.
Don't get me wrong, Chandler is a good shot blocker and rebounder, but I think Dallas could have did better than this.

Note: already seeing some reaction from Mav fans. I'd be pissed too.
No wait, I know exactly how you feel. Must have been the feeling when spurs fans found out that the Spurs were bring back Bonner. :headbang

All they have done is buy themselves more time to poach someone they really want. This gives them until the deadline to see if any better players become available. If not, even with the cap space, that is a major risk w next seasons FA class and the CBA up for renewal.

I'm aware; the point I am makin is Cuban had options better than this, and Al Jefferson was clearly the best option of them all considering what Minny wanted back, and considering his contract runs through the rest of Dirk's prime. That's mostly JMO though.
This move is basically a salary dump looking for next season. He got rid of Caroll, Damp and Najera, and took on expiring contracts. He's basically cutting his loses and looking at the next offseason. The Al Jefferson train left the station already and CP3 is not leaving NO.

I think it's a disservice to waste one more year of Dirk's prime like this. He should've pulled the trigger on the Jefferson deal.

Dirk, Haywood, Chandler, Mahinmi, Ajinca would be an Olympic volleyball dynasty.

The DUST chip was what Mark and Donnie hyped up for months though. It was supposed to be the ultimate trading chip and mean instant savings. Cuban and Donnie ed around too long with Minnesota and Utah just came in and took Jefferson. What pisses Mav fans off is that Cuban was too cheap(yes I said cheap) to take Jefferson even though Dirk signed for 16 million less to help Cuban. If I'm Dirk, I threaten to leave and not resign to see if Cuban can get anyone else but at this point I doubt it.

Chandler to the Mavs is a very nice coup for Mark Cuban. Bryan Colangelo can't be a happy man right now.
