We do not need a all around sf, we just need one that can defend and shoot threes. Unfortunately, we cant get that.
I'm not buying this "specialist" argument. For a starter I'd much prefer an all around talented player like Matt Barnes. We'd get a good defender, rebounder, ball handler, slasher, and finisher who can run the break and score in a variety of ways. Plus he's a "tough guy" who doesn't back down from opponents, no matter who they are. Hard to believe some fickle spurs fans are calling this being a "headcase" and " head".
And let's not forget Barnes shot almost 35% from long range just 2 years ago for PHO which isn't too bad. If he can duplicate that he'd be good enough in that dept.
Barnes also is very versatile. He can defend 2's, 3's, & 4's. I don't know how versatile James Jones is defensively but from the comments on this thread it doesn't sound like it.
I would be willing to bet if the spurs picked up Matt Barnes 99.9% of the people ing about him on this forum would suddenly run out and purchase Matt Barnes' jearsy's.![]()

Bring James Jones before another team catching up. Time is running.
And the dudes who want Brewer. Do you really think that we can play with a SF who shoots %25 3 pointer? He's a terrible shooter and we need a guy who can shoot 3 from corners.
So much for that..........

Raja Bell has agreed to a three-year, $10 million deal with the Jazz.
The Lakers and Bulls were also interested in Bell.
