The comparison between Brenda and Scola is beyond retarted. I'd take one Scola over five Brendas.

I think Haywood and Scola are comparable. One is clearly a better offensive player, the other clearly a better defensive player. Although it doesnt surprise me the guy who scores more points is looked at favourably.

Scola is way better than Haywood. When has Haywood ever scored 44 pts in a game?

I guess Kobe Bryant is way better than Michael Jordan too. When has Michael Jordan scored 81 in a game?

When Scola gets minutes instead of splitting time with Landry, he's 22 pts, 9 rebounds. Easily could get 20-10 this year.

That's a pretty awesome deal for the Rockets. Less than 10 million for a very good post player.

No way that happens with Yao back and with Brooks and Martin on the team.

DAF86 what is Argentine national team this summer?

    is like this maybe?

    PG Prigioni/Van Lacke/Garcia
    SG Delfino/Quinteros
    SF Nocioni/Kammerichs
    PF Scola/Gutierrez
    C Oberto/Gonzalez/Gutierrez

Or is Fernandez in team this time as backup point guard? What about Jasen? I look for him in team roster at FIBA site and he is not list there? He is excellent player and should be in the team.

I think the definite list hasn't been announced yet. Here's the 17 men list:

Pablo Prigioni, Juan Figueroa, Juan Fernández, Juan Cantero, Carlos Delfino, Paolo Quinteros, Andrés Nocioni, Matías Sandes, Hernán Jasen, Federico Kammerichs, Marcos Mata, Luis Scola, Leonardo Gutiérrez, Fabricio Oberto, Román González y Juan Gutiérrez

IMO, the definite list will be this:

    PG: Prigioni, Fernandez
    SG: Delfino, Quinteros
    SF: Nocioni, Jasen, Kammerichs
    PF: Scola, L.Gutierrez
    C: Oberto, Gonzalez, J.Gutierrez

Third place at best, imho. 5th to 8th place more probable scenario. No Manu really hurt us.

With such a roster and I also think Van Lacke and Garcia is good players Argentina is very dangerous team.

I would say Spain and Greece is stronger and Argentina is not so far from US team and even can beat them.

Third to fourth place is very possible for such a roster. I believe will be Greece and Argentina in the semifinal this time. Keep in mind many of the best Greek players decided not to play. I think Greece's roster will be stronger but you still have chance to win that one. And so Manu is not playing but neither is Papaloukas.

Should be US-Spain and Greece-Argentina in semis. You still have chance with such roster.

Of course if you lose to Serbia in group stage this will ruin everything for you probably. Serbia is very strong team.
