It is very frustrating watching the guy play. I'm not into bashing one player, you win and lose as a team, someone could get hurt and the Spurs might really need him. So you want his confidence (?) to be there. Calling him names is juvenile. But, his actions on the court are hard to understand. He doesn't shoot when open, is obviously athletic enough to go hard to the rim but doesn't, acts like the ball is a hot potatoe...just don't get it. After 10 years in the NBA I don't buy he is scared, just no confidence I guess. A mystery man. It will be tough for the Spurs to keep winning without some kind of contribution from him, especially with Devin Brown injured. Brent, please give us something on Thursday.

just look at the stat ratio..

in the number of games he played.. how many times did he officially suck? and didnt?

Congratulations. You scored one more point than a dead man.
Longhorn coach Abe Lemmons once said that to a player who hit one free throw while playing an entire game. Looks like Brent couldn't even reach that standard last night.

I still support him, even though he did rush those damn 3's he took. He needs to be wide open to hit a three now a days. I won't give up on him, , he is a part of our team, and I'd rather have him out there than Rasho any day of the week. At least Barry can dunk the ball!

I dunno what to say, I have defended this guy all year hoping and praying for his game to show up, knowing that when the playoffs started Barry would just blow us away with his game.

    What a disappointment.

I am officially through hoping. Passing the ball when he's wide open,
Daniels blowing by him consistently, and suprisingly enough bad passes and desicions when driving in traffic (this was his strength earlier in the season)

    What's going on?????
Sorry Brent, you just lost one of your biggest supporters.

I hope the real Brent Barry shows up before the season ends.

But since you've followed him for awhile, is he at least a streaky player? Can we hope he hits a hot streak here pretty soon?

    Please say yes.
No joke. At least we had Taruky around last year promising that Hedo might be turning the corner every now and then since he was an expert on Hedo's confidence. We don't even have 1 strong Barry follower/promiser.

Seriously... just play Tony Massenburg at the 2 guard for the minutes Barry would play. Put Rasho out there. Anything but Mr. Syphilis In Every Possible Orifice.

Leave Barry behind in San Antonio. No, better yet, let him on the flight, but give him a parachute and push him out somewhere over the Utah desert. No, better yet, forget the parachute.
If you are gonna replace him.....do it with Big dog....at least you know he will shoot more and probably score.

At least Barry didn't make any stupid mistakes to cost us the game.3

I have backed Barry this year and am disappointed as well....but as long as he is on the roster and playing I will still hope he comes around...and when he does it can only help us that much more and make the spurs that harder to beat.

What sucks is that the spurs could have me for a few bucks and a couple of extra tickets. At least I would kick someone in the balls.

If Mengke Bateer and his translator gets a ring, why not Barry?

Geez, the guy is bad, but he has scored some points and played some games. And, as doubtful as I am, the Playoffs aren't over yet.

(But I don't think he's going to get many pts. in Game 6 - Seattle puts too much pressure on him to perform)

Will Barry be better in next series?

His numbers against Dallas are 8-17 for 7 pts/game (4 games)

    Phoenix: 10-22 for 8.5 pts/game (3 games)

    Jury is out.

I think Horry hit it on the head - Barry's pressing in this series like Rob did against his old team last year.

I can't figure out what it is about the Spurs that when we get guys from other squads they lay an egg against those teams.

When an ex-Spur plays us, he has the game of his life every time.

Talk about some messed up karma.

the Hedo/Barry consecutive "dry holes" are certainly not a good sign for other 30 year-old players looking to hitch with Spurs.

Hedo could be considered a fluke flame-out, but now Brent, too?

Is there something in Pop's system that prevents these guys from producing? In both cases, very different players but with clear talent, obviously their psychology has gotten screwed up at the Spurs.

Pop's system is complicated...even Horry said so.

But Bones is missing wide open looks.

I am still in support of Barry. Do you notice that even though he has completely sucked, his defender still doesn't leave him behind the arc. And when he runs the high low with Duncan, his defender never goes to double. He is still a 3-point threat. I am not saying play the guy 25-30 mins, but to say he has no impact in the overall flow of the game is crap. I have been more frustrated with Udrih than Barry. Also please remember that Barry is the 4th option along with Bowen. So would it be nice to have his production? Yes. Should his production be critical to the victory? No.

Sorry, but that's completely wrong. We re-watched the first half at 5am this morning before we went to bed. And Barry's "defender" was in the paint, while he was about 3 feet behind the 3 point line. He was so wide open that it wasn't even funny. And Tim Duncan didn't even look to pass him the ball. I'd hate to think that opponents as well as his teammates have given up on him.

Come on, Brent. Have a big game six, PLEASE! And prove everyone wrong.

By the way, for those who say he doesn't get enough touches -- we counted them in the first half when we re-watched the tape -- he had 18.

If Devin Brown has stayed healthy, would we still be this terribly disappointed in BB? Probably, but the sense of urgency wouldn't be as great. Question is, do we give him another year to find his game or do we immediately dump him over the summer?

If he keeps up these performances for the rest of the postseason, I'd think you'd have to shop him this summer.

If he keeps up these performances, who would be willing to give us somebody we actually want for him? Spurs just may have to take their lumps and do their best to get him involved.

The Spurs do their best to get him involved. They can't force him to perform. Some young team would probably want him as a veteran influence. He has 3 more years on his contract and makes $6M in his last season. The Spurs can't afford that kind of dead weight.

I'm still hoping he steps up.

This is sickening. I was a Brent Barry fan before this season, and I was pretty excited to get him because he was such a good passer and shooter. Now the guy makes some of the most boneheaded passes I've ever seen. I remember one early in the game last night where Manu is right on the out of bounds line and Brent throws him the pass about 0.4 seconds after receiving the ball, and Manu was like WTF? and had to juggle it while tip-toeing the line to keep from stepping out of bounds.

Even Turkoglu had one good quarter in game 4 and a big three late in game 1 against the Lakers last year. It's obvious that Brent Barry wants no part of playoff basketball. Barry could be replaced by a wall, because all he does is pass the ball right back when you give him the rock.

So true. Whenever he gets the ball, he throws a hard chest pass to the closest person. That pass to Manu was horrible. Barry's first pass of the game almost killed Robert Horry. Horry was like five feet away but Barry threw a high fastball to him.
