It has only been a year, huh. It feels like it's been much more... that said and I still never finished season 6. I think I'm on like championship race 10 of 13 or whatever. I canceled my gamefly subscription winter/spring this year and pretty much played FM3 and nothing else and still never made much of a dent into the game.

How have the GT games been in the past online (or did GT4 even have that much of an online presence?) Is it loaded with the mix of d-bags who /moan if you touch them or are in their line and then the dudes who try to wipe as much of the field out in the first turn? I know that's pretty much every racing game online... don't know why I'd expect any different here.

I went @ 7AM and the ing clerk told they only received 2 copies and they sold it yesterday. I wasn't a happy camper to say the least.

I'm chilling in my car and I see a dude come out with a copy so I chased him down and h told me the guy just found the new shipment. I went back in and he was apologetic as , so I just grab a copy for a friend as well and now I'm home ready to rock.

Wow, I didn't even realize that. Huge point for Forza. That's some dedication, they are a real contender right now.

It's the two most realistic, detailed racing games on the market. Not unfair to challenge the standard holder just because she's aged a bit. Forza 3 is the reigning champion of racing games unless GT5 unseats her.

I'm getting my B license; I'm rusty but good enough to get bronze on 1st attempt, and silver on 1st-3rd attempt. However I'm struggling to get silver on the final B-test (one lap, go from 16th to 3rd). My first car is a used Mitsubishi FTO.

I'm hoping my coffee table serves as a suitable mount for my wheel. Right now I'm using my computer desk. I know the wheel will clamp to the table, but I'm not sure how comfortable of a setup it's going to be. I might end up investing in a driving stand for the wheel.

You can install while you play, it's an option when you first boot up the game.

I had no option... went straight to the install... also the load times are almost unbearable... I've had a few 5 minute loads... it better be due to the installs. If it keeps up, I'll dump the game in a heartbeat.

The initial install was quite long, at least 30 min. But I haven't had any 5 minute loads, 20 seconds max. And the game is still constantly installing on the fly. I hope within a week everything is installed.

I gave up for now... family is in town for the holidays so I freed up the tv. Did the first five or so license events and and then the first two races in the very first series... whole thing probably took 60-75 minutes or so. Load times were brutal. Shouldn't be my PS3, thing is a "new" slim bought about a year ago, and I hardly play anything on it at all, so it's not like the HD is full or anything. Hopefully it'll pick up/speed up as I go. I did have it freeze on a menu once and had to go out to the dashboard or whatever PS calls it.

I've had a few excessively long load times. Dont know if they where 5 minutes long but it was close.

Speak of the devil, I just had a 2-3 minute loading screen after exiting a dealership.
