Sons blah blah blah blah Sons King Paul is the best blah blah...![]()
I guess you still are mad.
Hornets78, remember how mad you were about the Hornets' off-season?..especially the Ariza trade..I was looking at that thread a few days ago..
Have you changed your mind yet?..
Yeah. I made the mistake of expecting efficiency from everyone instead of just focusing on what each player does individually well.
I looked at Ariza's offensive numbers from last season instead of looking at the impact his defense would bring to the team.
Same thing with Willie Green and Jason Smith. Green and Smith won't ever put up good efficiency numbers, but they both have specific roles to the team which are valuable and its showing.
I also hated Okafor and his contract, but he's bringing the wood in the paint. He did a good job defensively against Nene, Duncan, and Yao. If he can continue to be a presence in the paint, it will make the team strong defensively.
I was also skeptical of a first year coach in Monty Williams, but he's really doing a good job in preparing the team and using certain guys in certain situations. The Hornets don't have a set rotation when it comes to the bench, but instead bring in whoever is needed at the time. I like that kind of flexibility.
that is what you get for caring about efficiency numbers so much. Paul is very efficient and has the ball the majority of the time and makes the other guys a little more eficient by "proxy". you guys needed a wing defender like Ariza. he was miscast in Houston, with NOLA he is back in his sweet spot. Paul and Trevor will punish teams for lazy passes on the perimeter. Do i think nola is a le contender? No. But they are much better thn many thought myself included. But it's STILL very early.
I know Hornets fans are excited about the way they are playing early but.............seriously lol
You really think the Mavs are that much better?
You're right. Certain guys aren't going to be "efficient", but they can still have value to teams whether its defense, perimeter shooting, rebounding, etc.
Hornets aren't a le contender because they're not as good as the Lakers. Lakers are the only le contenders in the West because no one appears to be their equal. It's a fact I can live with. Same with Boston and Miami. Those two teams are le contenders with Orlando a level below them. Anyway, back to the Hornets. They're not on par with the Lakers, but they're not any worse than any other teams in the West. I'm comfortable saying that. I don't think Dallas or the Spurs are that much better if any better at all.
Of course not i'm not even sure the Lakers and Heat are better than the Hornets
Reality check tomorrow, you really believe this team is a top 4 seed??????
Of course they can be a top 4 in the West, Ghazi. Lakers are the best team, but it's a toss-up after that. Health will play a big part. Otherwise, there's not much separating the other playoff contenders.
Tomorrow isn't going to change anything. Hornets aren't expected to be as good as the Heat. Neither are any other team in the West outside of the Lakers. It's a no-lose situation for the Hornets tomorrow night.
lol congrats on the Hornets 4-0 start, good luck on keeping it going they will need it
I won't bet on them winning tomorrow night since Miami is really playing well right now. However I said the same thing about the Hornets going to San Antonio off a back-to-back.
The Hornets playing very well this early didn't surprise me at all. CP3 has a chip on his shoulder and just like the Spurs' Jefferson, he would love to bounce back from a down season last year.
In the Spurs vs. Hornets game, CP3 is surely missing Chandler out there. He used to just lob a pass after a screen to a rolling Chandler. Without Chandler, Okafor and West aren't just athletic or quick enough to do that at all.
I'm not discounting the Hornets at all from winning the division. That's why I only gave a "rolleyes" instead of a "lmao" response that is usually saved for RocketFan or anything Medvedenko posts.
They've actually done it before with Paul, but they still have a long way to go.
The Hornets are impressive right now, and any team with a legit superstar can never be counted out. Spurs, Mavs, Hornets are the only teams to ever win the Southwest Division and it's no surprise (Duncan, Nowitzki, Paul).
If the Rockets ever get one of those, then maybe they'll have a shot![]()
A jefferson/ CP3 comparison. awesome![]()
The Spurs could suck for a century and their fanbase would still be optimistic in November/December. Cute.
Not your best work, imho.
You could've just posted "Funny to see the Mavericks with hope. We all know they're going to choke, rofl" for the 50th time and gotten grey Spurfan to go ape with laughter.
1. Mavs
2. Hornets
3. Spurs
4. Rockets
5. Grizzlies
