Fact, despite what all the nuthuggers in the media and some of you MIA fanboys about challenging 72, we all told you that integration and personnel was going to be critical factors in MIA's cohesion. It doesn't matter if it's Coach Spo or Riley or even Pop or PJax. If you don't have a complete team, where sacrifice of the individual is important to team success, you are ultimately going to fail at winning at the highest levels. Star teams have the hardest times. My first team that I watched intently, as a youth, was the Philadelphia 76'ers. That team had Julius Erving, George McGinnis, Lloyd(World) Free, Doug Collins, Darryl (Chocolate Thunder) Dawkins, Joe Bryant(Yes that guy who's kid is a bane for all fans not Laker), and Henry Bibby(Mike's Dad). Those top 5 guys on the court seemed to be dynamic together but ultimately, they got their asses kicked by Portland. Portland had a TEAM in every sense of the word. Outside of Walton and Lucas, most peeps couldn't name any other starter. Okay, Twardzik, Gross, & Hollins. But see, those guys played their roles to the hilt and won. Even today's teams with Big 3's know that they need their teammates. Looking at that roster, there's already a size issue despite Bosh's presence. Couple that with spotty outside shooting, point guard issues, and a reluctance for ball dominant players to play better WITHOUT the ball...that leads to a lot of what we're seeing when they play against GOOD teams. Could it be fixed? Maybe, it probably starts with "the Der(c)ision" to play PG and for County to move without the ball. Defensively...not sure because there are so many holes. We'll see if they block out the noise.
