pure luck
jesus, symple.
First the Giants, now this. What a year
pure luck
I hope Newton's dad doesn't get in deep with the NCAA. If he does, this le holds no meaning and shame on the NCAA for putting this investigation off.
With all that being said, congrats to you symple and your team. You were the best team in the country this year. I just hope doesn't hit the fan. I would hate to see another USC incident.
it still may hit the fan, I'm not going to deny it.
But...I'm going to "waller" in this as long as I can. It feels too good
Kinda like 2007 for me. Gators win the football national le, then the men's basketball national le, then the Spurs win the NBA le. That was a great year!!!
SMH @ Urban Meyer mentioning Tebow like 3-4 times even when it didn't make sense. Lol comparing one of Cam's passes to the "jump pass." Plus found it odd to have Urban comment about Cam Newton. Almost felt like he was biting his lip and had to be careful to watch his words so he just kept mentioning how Cam was like Tebow...
Oregon's nickname on this forum shall forever be known as "Amatuer Hour"
First of all to the very start of the game, both teams looked amateur, completely nervous.
The major pivot point of the game was in the 2nd Q when Oregon finally holds Auburn to a 3rd and long. It was 3rd and 8, Cam looked confused, momentum was with Oregon after a sack. Than that dumbass mustached black linebacker for Oregon unnecessarily goes offsides to give Auburn the 3rd and short. That was a huge huge change in the course of the game. Amateurs.
Then for the rest of the game Oregon found a clever way to keep shooting themselves in the foot with timely penalties.
Oregon's QB either never improvises EVER, or the Oregon offensive play caller brought his freakin F game tonight. He was in a great play calling groove in the 1st half, Oregon was running the ball well, Auburn looked to be on their heels defensively.
Then in the 2nd half, Auburn started getting more pressure, and Oregon looked like a team that had absolutely no idea, or experience with dealing with pressure up front.
The play calling was amateur (Sticking with the run for EVERY 1st and 2nd down when you're forcing constant 2nd/3rds and longs?) They didn't pass on 1st/2nd down until the 4th Quarter when they were getting desperate. (and guess what? They moved the chains)
I know Amateur Ducks Fan would point how that The Michael James was hurt, but bull . Auburn was getting great pressure and Oregon's coach failed to devise a plan to get the offense flowing. It's like he had no experience with thinking outside his gimmick offense box.
Can anyone remember one time Oregon genuinely tried to challenge the Auburn secondary in the 3rd quarter on 1st down? It was all quick hit outs, and most of them came on 3rd down.
If I'm a TCU fan I'm so irate. Oregon's gimmicky offense was fun as to watch in the 1st half, but then the chess match played out and they got exposed just like we all knew they would.
On another note, credit the Oregon defense. They were completely utterly outmanned, and they must have MAD leadership because they came to ing play. They were tackling great all night (when they were in position to make tackles). The Oregon defensive line was totally outmatched yet held the Auburn offense to 19 points for most of the game. That's amazing, really. They did their job. And then some.
Then you had Auburn getting insanely lucky on two game changers:
1) The bogus no INT call on Auburn's first rhythm drive. Dude took one full step and his arm even touched in bounds before going out of bounds.
2) That insane run in the 4th Quarter where somehow the RB's knee avoided the ground and he gained like 40 extra yards.
They also brought the pain to Cam Newton. He was hurting in the 1st half I knew he'd be wincing like a in the 2nd half.
Also, this undoubtedly puts the Cam Newton/Vince Young thing to bed. I supposed that's the only silver lining out of this game.
TCU would have beat Auburn if Auburn plays the way it does today. Not saying they beat them 9 outta 10 times, but if Auburn brings this showing against TCU, TCU punishes them.
Not that it matters, Auburn's le is the definition of DISPUTED, and will inevitably get revoked in 2-3 years anyways.
I'm pretty pissed overall at this college season, and that's really not counting UT's fiasco. The entire system got exposed in a way unlike any other year. The BCS system and the NCAA system.
CBF, the Big-whateverthe is garbageTCU would have beat Auburn if Auburn plays the way it does today. Not saying they beat them 9 outta 10 times, but if Auburn brings this showing against TCU, TCU punishes them.
Wisconsin is not a litmus test for top-tier SEC teams
If TCU plays the way they did against Wisc and Auburn plays the way it did tonight, I think we have a more cleanly played game overall more entertaining.
I mean think about how many flukey plays by Oregon it took just to make the game respectable?
And calling their trap-block run-up-the-middle garbage on their own 0.5 yard line leading to a safety? You mean to tell me any college football fan with half a brain did not know Oregon would do one of their slow blocking runs up the middlle and get destroyed? It was so predictable. God forbid they take a quick shot downfield to challenge the secondary, or do a NORMAL RUN PLAY that just gives them some breathing room.
To me that Oregon OC either knew his offensive line would get annihilated on a vanilla up the gut run (which makes a run up the gut that he called of that nature even more bewildering)
Or he truly had no idea how to react to the situation
In fact, several times that Oregon OC had me thinking he was just in way way over his head. He looked like an amateur that had been running a flag football offense all season and had no idea how to adjust his game plan on the fly. He was not flexible until Oregon had to start passing....and did you notice once they started passing again in the 4th, they went ALL pass? There was still no mix...they did not run the ball again until the TD run. It was like all run or all pass for them. No adjustment, no mixing it up.
That Oregon offense had me almost convinced for much of that first half. But then the cracks started to show and the armor just crackled under the pressure.
And lets be honest, Auburn isn't exactly a cream of the crop defense. No matter how much Mussberger kept comparing that dirty ass thug number 90 to Ndamokng Suh.
Oregon's defense did their job. Kept that score low. The Oregon offense just got totally exposed like many believed it would.
And another mindbender....That white receiver for Oregon was going bonkers in the FIRST HALF....and they did not start feeding him the ball in the 2nd half until Oregon was in trouble and was in must-score series.
Cuz they devoted so much time in the 2nd half to trying to reestablish their running game. It was a total fiasco.
Auburn gave that Oregon offense plenty of chances they just did not put up the numbers like they were supposed to.
But I guess its still a decent game compared to the blowout I expected.

It was fantastic football game between two worthy opponents. I'm not currently equipped to further disect this game right now, lol
But dude, I'm on cloud nine...cloud muh in nine. Analysis doesn't do anything for me...
WDE
Lol, this "Texas pride" thing is about as funny as the South with the SEC.
And TLONG. Well...

may your pitiful inferiority complex (minus USC) to the SEC be immortal...muwhahahhahahahahahahhahahahahaa
The degree to which officials let SEC get away with is quite amazing though. That guy shoulda been ejected.
I'm starting to hate college football. Gonna stick with basketball.
That kinda happens in every game dude, there's simply a bigger microscope on this one.
But it did always look like Auburn was the more physical team. They've been that way all year, and it's something intangible that Chizik and his staff have instilled into this team.
They just find ways to win in the 2nd half
I love LSUfreek
It's like det one time Blake said it's like watching a 50 yard run get called back.
Symple holdin it down in this thread. Brah if the Spurs win the championship I'll pay you five grand to be a Jets fan next season.
Congrats to Auburn. They deserved to win. The Ducks were right there, but couldn't get it done. It's unfortunate since Stanford probably would have won that game.
