Memphis could have tanked the game against NOH, but that was obviously not the case. Why will they begin tanking now? It would make little sense...
Well..maybe they want Dallas like everyone.

It's all in tonight's game.If they win they'll fight for the 6th seed.If they lose then maybe they tank to be the 8th.

NO is tanking. That's obvious. But it's not in their hands.Tonight's game will be the key

The best possible seeding scenario for us would be: SA, LA, OKC, DAL, DEN, POR, MEM, NOH. Gives us the easiest matchup in the first round and the winner of Dal and Den in the 2nd. While LA and OKC have to battle Portland and Memphis respectively and then face each other in the semis. The worst scenario would be memphis in 8th seed and LA falling to 4th. The last few days should be interesting no matter how it plays out.

It will be worse Memphis 8th and OKC being 4th to me.And sadly that's what it's going to happen.

OKC is going to be stronger than LA.I'm pretty sure.

I can only see teams potentialy tanking the last game - Memphis by winning out might face Dallas and why would they fear that matchup?

Things are beginning to fall Spurs way and the nice thing is that there is nothing they can do about it but wait it out so why risk too much and will be interesting to see how Pop goes against LAL.

What a dilemma ... I vote to play the starters very limited minutes against L.A. tonight ... if they still win, so be it. The risk of meeting Chicago in the Finals is not very high, so its better to maybe not have HCA in the Finals than meeting the Lakers already in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Hopefully NO stays at #8.
how do you figure? you dont think theyre the most likely team to make it out of the east? I guess you dont figure that the spurs will make it to the finals

that's what i would like as well. But NO/DAL play early on Wed. while Mem and Por play late. If NO manages to win that game then i could definitely see Memphis or Portland tanking to avoid OKC and LA.

Dallas has much more motivation to win than NO, who is probably content with the 8th seed.

Dallas, however, might wanna tank to 4th to avoid lakers in the second round... so both teams might try to tank the game.

Perhaps, but then they would not have HCA against LA or OKC if they made it to the conference finals.

Would you guys rather have a New Orleans/OKC first 2 rounds or a Memphis/Dallas first 2 rounds.

Memphis/Dallas. To me the difference between playing NO and MEM is winning in 4 games or 5 games.

I really don't mind LA playing NO in the first if it meant they had to play OKC in the 2nd as much as other posters do.

Only thing that would scare me there is if Portland then dropped that game against GS. That would then make them the 8 in that scenario. Worst possible outcome.

That's exactly why I don't like that scenario. All I care about is New Orleans ending up 8th. Let L.A, Dallas, and OKC fall where they may. But all I want is a New Orleans loss on Wednesday, and Memphis to at least win one of their last 2 games...

I really would not want to play NOLA because they would not have David West and that of course would mean they are not at full strength, which would prove nothing about the Spurs in that series.
I say we get Memphis so we can be ready for the next round and on...

Seeing the Spurs hoist the O'Brien is the only proof I need to see.

Wouldn't surprise me. They always struggle against Golden State. I would rather see Portland beat Memphis then lose to GS while Memphis loses tonight and wins tomorrow. Hornets need to lose to Dallas too.
