i am doing a fresh install of windows and bf3 on an ssd drive to see if that helps anything doubtful but ive tried just about everything ive read online.
i played the other night on the gts450 for a while with no problems but have since upgraded the power supply not sure if that has anything to do with it its a corsair 600 Watt gaming model
EVGA Precision
Install it. Monitor it. Any GPU that gets above 90 degrees Celsius, thats a problem. If you have a LCD keyboard, it will display the temps on that so you dont have to Alt+Tab to see.
Basically, your tower should not sound like an aircraft carrier when gaming (unless youre the one manually upping the fan speeds).
Thank me later.
okay card is running hot and fan speed was up near 100 percent it took about 2.5 minutes to hit 100 degrees where the pc crashed. what can be the causes? both my gts 450 and gtx560 are having same symptoms.
just had a 600 watt ps put in last night
thanks
AFAIK that's too hot. I don't know what a GPU should run at though but I'm fairly certain 100c is an absolute cut off. Your heatsink might not be functioning properly.
i had a damn cable stopping the gpu fan. im a dumbass right now its stable at 56 degrees celsius.
At least it didnt cost you money, just pride.
craziness both cards were crashing last night im thinking how the did i do that to both cards?
so far so good the gtx 560 on ultra equals in my pants.![]()
I probably would have done the same thing. You feel so stupid when it happens. But if it works out in the end, then no worries.
its running at around 74-75 degrees with 20 percent fan.
Even if one wasn't getting cooled, the freaking heat spreads like crazy. You are pretty lucky you didn't cook the card or other components inside.
Does anyone have this for the 360? I should be getting mine back from Microsoft soon...
i have it for the 360
blademaster
close call man. like was said before, you're lucky you didn't fry that .
glad i could help
now im having other issues. the game crashes back to desktop usually within 5-20 minutes. hopefully something that will be addressed in the new nvidia drivers coming out this month or the next patch from dice which is due out soon as well.
When Rage came out nvidia released some drivers directed to both rage and battlefield 3. If you are crashing while playing multiplayer and already have those drivers, it's probably their servers (unless you are playing the campaign, then it's probably your pc).
Well known EA server problem.
Do you get the windows message "Battlefield 3 has stopped responding and must be closed" message, or nothing at all?
If nothing, its EA.
If the message, its you.
The only issue ive had so far with servers, especially a few times early on, is when a clan admin kicks to make room for their own kind.
Its quite possible that's what happened I just played a session over an hour with no problems. I have a guy putting OSX lion on the pc right now.
AI doesn't quit when it's losing, and doesn't smack it's gums and curse you out and call you a cheater when you are kicking it's ass.
I have no desire to play against a bunch of grade school kids.
Probably going to school, so unlike you, he doesn't want to work as a drive thru specialist and watch Naruto when he's 30.
A) Never have that problem on PC.
B) Admins ban idiots who say stupid in server. One of the many nice benefits of having dedicated.
I played online for years back in the Quake/UT days.
I got burned out on it. It's not appealing to me now.
