Will be contending for AFC supremacy if they can keep Schaub healthy. Would've like to have seen the Texans square off against the Patriots. Perhaps this year it'll be the full culmination of the team and a playoff showdown.
I'm definitely excited about Martin. He's a real home run threat every time he gets the ball. Hearing about how he's killing it in practice is awesome.

^I wonder about that all the time if Jacoby hadn't fumbled. Foster did keep them in the game though, and it would have been interesting to see him run against NE. Hopefully everything goes well this season, and a the matchup with The Patriots December 10th on MNF is a good one.
Good opening defensive sequence and a solid first drive by the starters even though they settled for a FG. They look like they are only going to build on last year.
That Aggie kicker is pretty damn good too.

Texans reach contract agreement with Duane Brown.
Well done.
The extension is 6yrs/53.4 million. 22 million guaranteed. That's a nice deal. He could have gotten quite a bit more as a FA in the offseason.
GREAT news. That's huge, and it seems he took a page out of Arian's book in accepting a bit of a discount compared to the contracts of those at the top at their respective positions.
I hold my breath everytime he has the ball. I know he might return a TD, but I am scared that the ghost of Jacoby Jones may be back come playoff time.
Anyone looking forward to the new power rankings?
PATS LOST, RAVENS LOST.
I am sure the writers are hurting inside having to put texans at #2.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/201...sct=nfl_t11_a0Best defensive player: Houston defensive end J.J. Watt. Not easy for a 3-4 defensive end, particularly one in the first month of his second year as a pro, and particularly one playing with a nagging elbow injury that requires the elbow to be braced, to lead the NFL with 7.5 sacks and five passes batted down at the line. He makes it clear, correctly, that being on a defense with a great young cast has been a huge assist for him. But the way he can speed about the edge and bull-rush inside with equal skill has made it impossible to block him one-on-one consistently.
He's had at least one sack in every game this year, and dating to last year's two playoff games, Watt has 11 sacks in his last six games -- insane for a 3-4 defensive end. Notified of this incredibly prestigious honor, being named the best defensive player of the first month of the season, Watt said after his two-sack game against Tennessee Sunday: "I appreciate that, but it's only one quarter of the season. We've got lots to do.''
Good stuff from Scurfield today.
Nick Scurfield @NickScurfield
The #Texans have 16 sacks this season (tied for 5th in @nfl). They have allowed only 3 sacks (fewest in NFL)
Nick Scurfield @NickScurfield
#Texans rank 4th in @nfl in turnover margin (+8). They have 11 takeaways (t-5th) & just 3 giveaways (t-1st)
Still waiting on official news about Cushing.
Matthews is right. If they are going throw flags and fine players for hits on QB's and WR's the same should go for things like what happened to Cushing.
Nick Scurfield @NickScurfield
Brian Cushing is out for the season with a torn ACL, coach Gary Kubiak just confirmed #Texans
you Slauson you piece of . I hope you and your family die in a fire.
That play was bull , play was so far away from both guys. We're are ed at linebacker no depth at all.
Yup...they are saying Sharpton is several weeks away. fml.
Without a doubt. Teams will have a much easier time running the ball...especially towards the edges.
Really couldn't afford this with special teams already looking like . Both of these will rear their ugly head in the playoffs.
I'd suppose they'll make a trade.
