genius if you think about it. keeps it in the public eye without any advertising...
then bam! comedic perfection - affirming all our "what ifs?" instead of being a steriotypical sequel. it will reign, it will bload. jim is back.

Normally i'd say "hopefully this one doesn't suck and cheapen the original" but Dumb and Dumberer already happened, so this one is playing with house money.

dumb and dumber was just one of those things, lightning in a bottle... are there really people who fail to see this as the cash grab it is... I'm saddened that Hollywood can keep getting away with this , failure after failure after failure after...

Anchorman 2 looks like a bas ization of the first with a "HEY, LOOK AT ALL THE CELEBS WE PUT IN HERE!!!" and Step Brothers was average at best, a few good chuckles

I loved Step Brothers...I went in with no expectations and left with so many little quotes from the film. Overall, the film is a huge success.
What you are describing sounds more like the first sequel.
The Farrelly brothers struck gold twice with Carrey in this movie and in Me, Myself and Irene. I don't see any reason to believe they can't pull it off again.
Because they already did it. We've already seen these characters in a great movie. It's probably gonna have some good laughs but it's gonna be the same recycled jokes from the first
Obviously it won't be anywhere near the original, and it certainly is a cash-grab, but I'll definitely pay to watch it in theatres, tbh..
As for the rest of this thread, Sandler movies are trash IMO..I've never understood the hype behind Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, etc..I have no idea how this became so revered for his comedy..
Dumb and Dumber is my #1 comedy of all-time, I love Big Lebowski, the Naked Gun/Airplane and others, but the 21st century has easily been the best comedy era, tbh..Superbad, 40 YO Virgin, Knocked Up, Anchorman, Step Brothers and that genre of comedy on the Sandler-type of stupid comedies from the previous era IMO..

Rob Riggle has nabbed one of the last major roles in Dumb and Dumber To, the sequel to the 1990s comedy classic being directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly.
Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are reprising their roles as dim-witted best friends Lloyd and Harry who hit the road to find Harry’s long-lost daughter to donate a kidney for a transplant.
Riggle has the plum part of playing twins, a handyman named Travis and his unstable brother, Captain Lippencott.
National Lampoon's Vacation, Caddyshack, Stripes, Fletch and the like are better imo
