Ron Paul won the delegates today in Oklahoma (safe Paul). Virginia (likely Paul) and Arizona (likely Romney) are both too close to call. In Wisconsin (likely Romney), Romney won, but Paul came away with about 10 delegates. I do not have info on what happened in Hawaii (likely Paul). In Michigan (leans Paul), I do not have final numbers, but it appears Paul has won Michigan.
Ron Paul under the radar like the Spurs

Whatever numbers are reported by Paulbots, the actual delegate votes at the convention will likely be much lower.

In states like Nevada, delegates are bound to the results of the election.
Nevada delegates are bound by the state’s results on the first convention ballot, so Romney will still get their support. Paul’s Nevada supporters are not challenging that rule, for fear of losing their convention seats altogether. Delegates who abstain will be replaced with alternates.
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...n15T_blog.html

Maybe they can hope for a brokered convention.

Anyway, the RNC has the final say in these matters -- so there's nothing stopping them from putting a boot firmly in the ass of a state like Iowa if too many of its unbound delegates vote for Paul. Iowa's Paulbots would have to decide whether their messiah is worth sacrificing their state's position on the calendar and therefore its political relevance forever.

Delegates can vote for whoever they want to. That's why they are delegates. They decide.

    Let's make a deal.

If Ron Paul gets anywhere close* to 900 delegates to vote for him on the first ballot, I'll disappear from this board forever.

    If not, you do.

Put up or shut up, conspiracy boy.

    * - within 100 of 900, so only 800 delegates need to vote Dr. Paul.

Actually no. Some can. Many cannot.

Ron Paul power takes over GOP

After years of quiet, relentless organizing, followers of libertarian-leaning GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul have exploded inside the Minnesota Republican Party, becoming its most potent army. "This is one of the greatest states that I have witnessed, where I have seen the transition, where the enthusiasm's there," the grinning Texas congressman told hundreds of exuberant activists Saturday at the state party's convention in St. Cloud, where he won 12 of 13 open delegate spots to the GOP national convention in Tampa, Fla., in August. The 13th went to U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann -- and only after a Paul supporter dropped out to let her have that spot. In Minnesota, more than almost any other state, Paul forces have completed a historic party takeover.

Romney has maybe 600 delegates at most. Ron Paul has 700.

No one would ever agree to betting more or pay if they lost.

Especially someone like Rolf who knows he's going to lose.

What Does Ron Paul Want? Hint: It's Not About The 2012 GOP Nomination

Everyone seemed to miss the obvious: It is all about the future of the Republican Party.

Unless lightning strikes — and it won't — Romney will easily win the Republican nomination in Tampa on the first ballot. But many of those delegates in the hall will be Paul supporters, even if they are bound by party law to vote for Romney.

That's what is happening with the party conventions right now. It's not about 2012. It's about the future. And these "champions of liberty" may find themselves with a far bigger role than they do today.

He's too old now, RP will be how old in 2016?

Five things Ron Paul wants from the Republican National Convention

    1. Ron Paul wants to change the soul of the GOP
    2. Paul wants an orderly show of force on the floor
    3. Paul wants to irritate Ben Bernanke
    4. Paul wants to prohibit indefinite detention
    5. Paul wants the Internet to remain wild and free

So he doesn't want to win the nomination.

At least that part is realistic.

    Gal's an idiot.

Paul's spokesman came out more than a week ago and said that he was out of cash and was no longer going to actively campaign. He said that they had conceded the campaign and hoped to influence the GOP's platform.

    His spokesman.
