My contrat ends around the same time as yours, November 2013.
Im getting an Android from work, all I have to do is s out 100$ for the Nexus, or 49$ for the S2, and the phone is mine
Phuck those cucks at Rogers. Last phone I got from them was my iPhone 3GS in 2009. Since I haggled them into lowering my monthly bill in 2010, my current contract ends Oct 2013. If I buy through Rogers now they'll increase my bill by probably $20 a month, and until 2015. No way, keeping my options open.

Ill just put my iPhone SIM card in the Android
I just hope the Samsung wont look to big in my jean pocket in summer
Early benchmarks show Samsung Galaxy S3 leading the pack in battery life. One X left in the dust

Still doubting that the battery inside the Samsung Galaxy S3 will have enough juice to comfortably run the flagship phone’s 4.8-inch SUPER AMOLED HD screen and quad-core processor? We have some good news for you, then. According to battery benchmark tests, Samsung Galaxy S3’s 2,100mAh battery won’t disappoint at all.
First, we’d like to turn your attention to one rather non-scientific evidence from blogger Eldar Murtazin, who recently posted a screenshot of his Samsung Galaxy S3’s battery usage. The phone’s battery was shown to still be 42% full, even after Murtazin supposedly used the phone for over 20 hours. According to him, he listened to music for five hours on the phone, amongst other multimedia usages, and used it on a 3G network for an hour, before making the switch to a WiFi connection.
The next set of proofs comes from the folks at GSM Arena, who have just concluded their own battery benchmark tests for the Samsung Galaxy S3.
On the 3G talk time test, which measures how long the phone can be used to talk on a single charge, Samsung Galaxy S3 lasted 10 hours and 20 minutes. This was good enough to beat Galaxy S2’s 8 hours and 35 minutes, as well as compe ors like the HTC One X, which clocked close 9 hours and 57 minutes. Motorola Droid Razr Maxx and its monster-size battery lasted 20 hours and 24 minutes.
The Samsung Galaxy S3’s SUPER AMOLED HD screen is proven to be quite detrimental for web browsing, but it still performed admirably. The phone lasted 5 hours and 17 minutes in the web browsing test, a good one hour more than HTC One X’s performance. Again, the Droid Razr Maxx was king with 7 hours and 23 minutes.
Who doesn’t love to catch up on their favorite TV series while on the road or to avoid awkward conversations during lunch break? You’ll be pleased to know that the Samsung Galaxy S3 managed to last 10 full hours of video playback. Though it can’t beat Droid Razr Maxx’s time of 14 hours and 17 minutes, it almost doubles HTC One X’s 5 hours and 45 minutes.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 may not be the absolute dream phone for everyone, but it’s apparent from the benchmark tests that its battery performance is something that Samsung has gotten right.
This shows how efficient the One X is. Remember the S3 battery is ~16% larger for a ~10% boost in usage time. the sprint version will have about the same sized battery as the S3.
Good point

Engadget says despite the quad core the One X is superior.
The OneX is only AT&T, though, right?
Is the Samsung III worth holding out for, lee? I'm actually torn between it, the 4S, and the Evo 4G LTE. Do you have a recommendation?
i think the 4g LTE is the same as the One X, but Drachen would know for sure. If you were interested in an iPhone it would probably be best to wait a bit and see what they come out with.

Oh, really? Huh.
Is there already a timetable for the next iPhone release? (God, I'm sorry. I know this is something I could most likely Google, but the posters here tend to find stories that I never come across)
i would tentatively say around the holidays
The 4g LTE is the OneX except the 4g lte has a bigger battery a kickstand and a different body. Other than those three things, it is identical
Apple
not even in the radar anymore![]()
oops, I forgot, it also has an SD card slot.
I have the original EVO right now. Wouldjoo recommend the LTE, Drachen?
Is it different enough from the original to warrant some kinda renewed novelty?
Huge jump from the e4g. The processor doesn't only have a substantially faster clock speed, but the chip architechture is far more advanced (for example the US version of the OneX (and 4g lte) has a dual core processor whose architecture is so advanced that it slightly edges the quad core international One X in performance.
You have more space on board including more (faster) ram.
You are going to see an ENORMOUS difference in the quality of the photos that you take (even without messing with any settings), and that screen is far far superior to the one you have been using.
Lastly, LTE. san antonio will be in the first four cities to get it. I have seen speedtests of sprint's LTE and it is averaging at about 40 Mbps. For comparison's sake the best I have gotten on wimax is 12, but I average about 7 or 8.
if you have the upgrade and want a phone now, do it. If you have a little patience, wait for the sgsIII to be released (to compare the two before you buy). I am hearing june 20th is the day for that.
I'm sure it's a pain in the ass, but I really do appreciate the info, Drach (and lee).
eh, I keep up on this stuff pretty regularly. most of that is from memory.
Trust me, there is much more important stuff I could just "keep up with".
