I drank that as a kid just to piss off my mom![]()
Who can forget those wax figurines from the zoo? I get one each time I go.

There's still one of these in Kerrville.
My kids are mystified by the term "5 and Dime Store".
The gorillas name was mopie (mo pee). they would let you throw those single caramel candies at him. He would catch them out of the air if it was close, unwrap them and eat them. Man times were different.
The Gibson's on Bandera rd rocked.
And it was right by the old WhopperBurger![]()

Mobey, mopey? Something like that. That was my favorite exhibit back then.
Do you remember when the zoo had penguins? The Penguin House.![]()

How bout that warm slice of buttercrust bread at the end of tour. Not to mention the ruler and two pencils. I always loved the little mic and speaker hanging over the tour guides shoulder.
Was it ingram that had the diamond j's arcade room?
Nope. That was Aladdin's. I think diamond J's was in a strip mall. Out on Bandera outside of the loop
The arcade inside Central Park Mall was the Gold Mine.
