Jaws
This is real tough for me to narrow down to one and if you put a gun to my head and made me pick, I'd probably tell you to pull the trigger.
2001 is bloody great, read the books?
My favorite scene from the second half of the flick. Kubrick is a genius
(was) RIP
It's a tough call between Good Will Hunting and Shawshank Redemption.
The Bear (grew up on it)
Gladiator
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Ed Wood
Lawrence of Arabia/The Man Who Would Be King (same movie to me but the plot played out backwards imo)
The Professional
Matrix
Casablanca ( the haters)
Spartacus
Saving Private Ryan
Snatch/Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Forrest Gump
The Dollars Trilogy
The Searchers
Dr. Strangelove
Citizen Kane
Pulp Fiction
Terminator 2
The Last Waltz

shawshank redemption is one of the very few classic movies hollywood ever made imho and forest gump is the only other movie im thinking of atm that comes close, didn't even watch good will hunting because i ain't at all a fan of matt damon
monster's ball still my all-time favorite and that's also the best of all berry movies imho, and if they make a remake of that movie now i'll ask for playing the role as berry's fat son![]()
You ever see Boomerang, Rogue? Great, for HB fans imo
You should watch Good Will Hunting even if you don't like Matt Damon... it's worth it
Bang, Bang, BANG BANG BANG
The Untouchables has always been a fave of mine.
how could we forget the end all be all retelling of the story of Wyatt Earp/Doc Holliday and their battle with the Clantons.

Tombstone >>> Wyatt Earp in my opinion...
wots Tombstone?
The score to that movie is incredible.
Another in my top 10. Life just wouldn't be what it is for me without this masterpiece.
As if Connery, Costner, and Deniro and so many quotes weren't already badass enough, that damn score multiplied the awesomeness a million fold lol

maybe one of my top 5 movie scenes of all time is the shootout at the train station
I bought the 2061 or 2069 book when i was a kid, still never read it.
but the movie was always Kubrick's visual representation of life, where we come from, where we're going. IIRC, he brought Arthur C Clarke on board to help with the writing so that it was scientific and plausible. afterwards Clarke then turned it into novels. but to me it's always been meant to be a cinematic experience, i don't think anyone will ever top this film in terms of mystery, questions and scope. you can interpret it as God or aliens, but this movie represents awe and wonder like nothing else. this is Kubrick's masterpiece. as for Blade Runner, it's very close, i grew up with BR but sort of grew into 2001.
Untouchables is a badass movie, Morriccone's score is fantastic but that's per the par with him. still my favorite DePalma movie might be this or Body Double, it's got a great score as well and is more perverted, which is good for me.
...I forgot all about Body Double. Great movie. Another great DePalma movie was Blow Out.

Body Double sucked after the hot got drilled (literally).
