I think Baynes would be good for enforcing. If Kendrick Perkins or Serge Ibaka want to push their weight around, send in Baynes, let him foul a bit, so Duncan doesnt have to and bring him back out.
You're very predictable tbh.

Hoop 101.
Or have him in with Duncs for a spell to keep those two goons in check.
Even Blair (when healthy) gave Duncs protection in the paint.
And the PollyAnna Poppers want more Bonner and Jeff at the Forward spot.![]()
Everyone in the think tank, it just makes a lot of sense to be able to pay a FA.
time to bump that
unleash Baynes
Not if you still have to pay Bonner.
This summer's buyout seems more likely.
Pop asked Baynes if he wanted a Rose or a Shiraz and Baynes said no thanks I'm not a pussy. Pop said he wasn't ready yet.
Free baynes!!! Seriously after watching tonight, how much of the system does he really need to know?? Blair should sit the rest of the year on the bench. It'll give him plenty of time to check his Twitter.
this kid has a lot to learn. yeah he's athletic, still makes too many dumb errors
if baynes got a consistent couple of mins since he got signed till now, then he wouldnt be so clueless on the court at times
pop screwed this baynes situation just like he did splitter tbh
the guy is big, tough and a physical body and players will know he's there when they attack the rim, a useful trait in the POs
Professional, went out there and did what he was supposed to do with minutes.
And he's not 6'5"...the dudes a mountain.
and for all that beef, he moves and runs effortlessly. and he really like to rut around down low.
Summer work plus training camp, and he should be the 3rd big in November
It's gonna piss me off when I see baynes in street clothes for the playoffs...I'll be even more pissed when pop puts Blair or Bonner in, meaningful mins..only to get devoured once again. Matt played well tonight and I'm not a hater...he's just not fit for the post season. And fwiw, I lol at the fans that lol at baynes getting any mins. As mentioned a play or two can make the difference .. the spurs need an enforcer. Problem is they have one, rotting on the bench.
He just can't seem to get a good wind...pop needs to give him some run.. it's frustrating seeing him get so winded.
Winded because he doesn't know the pace of the NBA because he doesn't get minutes.. I hope that we see him down the stretch more probably not tomorrow but still at some point. Won't be in the playoffs though Pop squandered any hope of that by letting him rot with the Toros
Need to get him on the floor...throw him into the lions den, it's the best way to learn. The spurs know this, as its worked quite well in the past w/ others..splitter and now Aaron getting the shaft, however.
Yup. He needs nba mins...not dleague mins... it's just not the same. Would Blair be cool playing with the toros?..
Have you seen how wide his shoulders are?
I have...saw him play in mn a couple months ago(the win)..he's bigger in person.
I'd love to post some pics I took of him and others, from a courtside view...but can't post attachments for some reason? Do I need a certain # of posts first?
I saw him in person when we blew the out of the Clippers. He looked giant out there. Looked good tonight.
As for the original question of the thread, Bonner has a different role than Baynes. It's Blair's minutes he's going to eat into if he gets minutes
