The pessimist in me still says Miami in 7. Probably a blowout in game 6 and a close one in 7.
Only because of hca.

This has been an incredibly exciting series with lots of streaks but it's time to end this nice alternating pattern #Game6 #letsGe

Im really confident now that pop made these changes tbh.. Manu starting lets him be manu, and the fast pace wont let miami set up there defense!!
I am cautiously optimistic about game 6. The Spurs have outplayed the Heat this series with the exception of some deadly second half runs in games 2 and 4. If they can limit the turnovers, I think they got this.
This series is hard to call. It's so up and down. I guess all we can to is listen to Coach Pop who will say things like "There is no game 5. That's ancient history. There is no game 7. That's in the future somewhere, or not. There's only game 6. Players will play, they'll play well or not. Coaches will coach, they'll help or not. Each game is its own story and we don't know it until it is told."
Small sample size- I think going back further than the 90s is probably not useful
Looking back at game 7s they've been close
Lakers Celtics 2010
Last time the home team swept the final two.
Kendrick Perkins blew his knee early in game 6
Spurs Pistons 2005
Tight game
Rockets Knicks 1994
Another tight game
I'm on a fence- not sure whether to be optimistic or not. It's going to be tough.
I was sure after 2005 Game5 that Spurs would come home, up 3-2, and win Game6, wrong!
and Game7 was close to the very end, with Spurs behind 7 or more in 3rd qtr.
Tue night should be one of a game for the ages.
will the ATT be open Tue night for game watching?
Yeah. It'll be nuts if we can win.
Spurs need Game 6, period. Winning a game 7 on the road is nearly impossible. Hope they show up and go all out tomorrow night. Have to find a way to end that streak of Miami's. Just win.
Take Game 6 -- DO IT!!!!
At the same time that Game 7 is very difficult to win on the road...........didn't the Celtics hold a 13-point lead, at one point, in Game 7 over the Lakers, in 2010? And didn't the Pistons hold an 8-point lead at one point over the Spurs in Game 7 in 2005?
Yes, the Celtics and Pistons both lost those games, but victory was well within reach for them.
I feel:
When the Spurs struggle against the Heat, they struggle for the same reasons: turnovers, poor ball movement, inability to score against their PnR defense, letting LeBron too close to the bucket.
When the Heat struggle against the Spurs, it seems to be for different reasons each game: TP getting to the bucket, inability to guard perimeter shooters, Manu going off, losing concentration on defense, no contribution from role players, LeBron passing too much, Wade not scoring, Bosh not scoring.
I think the Spurs have been the more consistent team this series. The Heat have been all over the place. I like the Spurs to finish this in 6. I think the Heat would win if it went to 7, but I don't think they get there. I don't think they can handle an elimination game...few teams can. And, I wouldn't count game 7s as elimination games because they're more of a winner-take-all.
Since 1978 there have only been 5 Game 7s. 1984, 1988, 1994, 2005, 2010. Yes, home team has won them all but also all of them were very very close.
I can see Spurs really concentrating like in game 1. In SA they didn't have to worry about the crowd so were more freewheeling. Keeping the crowd from getting into it will be a powerful incentive for them to take care of the ball imo.
Yup heat have alternated w/l 12 times in a row now hope that trend ends
I think the Spurs have a 70% chance of winning Game 6 but only a 30% chance of winning Game 7.
My gut says tomorrow night has to be the night. Heat will try to put us away early in the 2nd half and we have to fight back and make them sweat this out. Stay close anyway you can in the 4th and force Queen James to be clutch... If the big 3 all play well tomorrow night Spurs will win number 5..
The key to game 6 is to attack quickly and confuse them.
No doubt this is a must win game for the Spurs. The Heat may be on the verge of elimination but the Spurs can secure the le here and now.
nervous
No champion has won both games 6 and 7
but no champion has ever lost game 7 at home
so historically, statistically, Spurs will be Champions tonight, or not.
I agree with what someone else said: This series will either end with Spurs in 6 or Heat in 7.
I'm feeling better about this game than any other. Spurs seem to be finding their groove.
Technically, If you lose game 7, you are not the champion
