Boris does a few things very well that help this team, and he makes less than the average NBA salary.

I don't think the Spurs needs to change the roster that much, they were in the finals last year so I can consider that a successful team already, just a little tweak

Diaw is such a underrated finisher really do you see him get blocked or not finish under the basket.
It's weird, too, because he flips a lot of shots up underhand from about shoulder height. He must surprise defensive players who expect him to extend upwards on his shot.

He does all the Horry type things that Pop keeps hoping Bonner will figure out how to do.

At the very least, they need to acquire a backup PG or ball handler to relieve some pressure off of Tony and Manu. Sorry but I don't want to take a risk hoping that CoJo will improve while Tim Duncan gets a year older. Pop and Manu cost Timmy #5 so they ought to do everything possible to sign some free agent(s).

While he doesn't shot as well as Bonner, he does a lot of things when he's not scoring. His passing is damn good, his defense is elite.

Yeah we saw that in the finals, when TP was on the bench Pop has to put Manu in to run the play sometimes. Besides Pop needs to reduce TP's playing time by 5 min to fully heal his calf. But there's Patty.

I am thinking more of a big man who can really help Duncan, we don't want him to get tired in the regular season than the rest of the Spurs. If TD is DNP we are screwed
Is Splitter up to the task?

We are going to need a experienced backup for Tony and we are going to need a player that can score and make shots/defend/dribble..

Great news. I admit I'm a sucker for players with high BBIQ, but Diaw really blows me away often times with his court vision and his passing. And he also is a fundamentally sound player defensively.
And I don't think 4.7 millions is too much. I could easily imagine teams where he fits in offering him a multi-year MLE-type of deal.

Great news, but we need some FA action.
