And Pop never needed to make any moves regarding Shaq, since Duncan equalized him. The Spurs are the only team from that era who Shaq didn't average 30 and 15 against.
And there's no downgrading Kobe by comparing him to early 00s T-Mac and Carter. Those two were supposed to be the next big thing, and they never fulfilled. This is why Kobe gets compared to Duncan, because there is no elite perimeter player from that era who won rings. Duncan vs. Shaq makes a of a lot more sense. Kobe has no perimeter rival. We missed out. T-Mac and Carter were busts in that regard. And Lebron belongs to the next generation.
Maybe Wade, but he's also of Lebron's draft class.
