    My join date: 10/22/2011

    CP3 trade: 12/15/2011

StrengthAndHonor's join date: 12/31/2012 ("coincidentally" during the Clippers' undefeated month last year)

    And I'm the "bandwagoner"

So you decided to bandwagon after seeing Blake Griffin and Eric Gordon sprung into action? And luckily for bandwagon fans, the CP3 trade took place.

Didn't you said you were a fan of the Clippers since Loy Vaught was their "franchise" player?

Yes, because everyone is just dying to hop on the bandwagon of a 32-win team

Didn't you said you were a fan of the Clippers since Loy Vaught was their "franchise" player?

I was a fan through the ty years when we had players like Vaught, guess you weren't

Kobe gay, Duncan gay what does that have anything to do with ball?

Durant is on TV right now proving my point their is only two truly franchise max players currently in the NBA: Lebron & Durant.
    Not Melo.
    Not Timmy.
Not Blake (but he has really improved)
    Not CP3
    Not Dirk (anymore)
    Not Kobe (ditto)
Not Paul George (who is still too inconsistent)
    Not Dwight
    Not Beard

    Right now it's

    1. Lebron
    2. Durant (and he's gaining)

    3. Paul George? CP3? Blake? It doesn't matter because the gap is HUGE.

LeBron and Durant are once in a generation type players that could end up top 10 all time. Your argument ia dumb.

why you so butthurt over my designation? You do REALIZE you just made my point.
again Stern changed the game. In the old CBA maybe you can justify Kobe's contract or Dwight or Love making max money.
    Not anymore.

Let's take a look at the guys who led their team to the promise land in the past 30 years:

    Magic (five)
    Bird (three )
    Isiah (two)
    MJ (six)
    Hakeem (two)
    Shaq (three)
    Wade and Dirk (one)
    Kobe (two)
    Duncan (four)
    Lebron (two)

With one truly team win: Pistons of 2004.

To win a le you need a once in a generation player, so why pay max money for a guy that cannot lead you to a le? Especially when the cap is limited? Sure old Kobe, Melo, Dwight etc can fill seats or box socres but if they cannot lead a team to a le I WOULD NOT pay that kind of price.

    And also "6".
We were lucky to be there.
No shame in losing to the GOAT.
    We still had Game 7.
Cant blame KL he is young.

SO much justification in these parts. Trying hard to ignore the facts. Parker, Manu Timmy and especially Pop all had a hand in giving away "5".

Pop is still a top 5 coach all-time.Timmy the best PF and Parker and Manu two of the GOAT international players and borderline HOF'ers ...

    None of that changes June.
Changes June? It's hilarious to watch Laker fans say stuff like this. They do this because they know there is a massive gap between the Spurs and Lakers. Lakers are nothings. Kobe is nothing. Spurs are competing for les. Yet Kobe fans want to act like getting swept in the first round is the same as losing in the finals. Just silly.

What's even more hilarious is to see Laker fans claim "they never tank" and that "Lakers don't tolerate losing, not even one season - we compete for les or nothing". Then the losing starts. Then Kobe declines. Then it's "oh, well now we are tanking and it's all good".

Not always true. Pierce, Garnett, and Allen were all old when they first rang, and were not once in a generation type players. Lakers in 09, 10. Those were team wins.

Oh we got swept. No hiding that. And of course competing for les is better than a sweep look at us now ... we suck. We have cap space and just gave it to injured Kobe and the options that are out there Melo, Monroe etc. are miles away from being a Durant/Lebron franchise changer. You are right you guys are in a much better place. I do not have to hide or make up .

None of that changes June. The spurs last best shot at a ring was gone in 28 seconds. at least you have a great coach and healthy star ...

Oh and as you already mentioned I am on board with the tank, not sure why you trying to cross me over, here Deeps.

As i was saying in the other thread I hate the FA crop and the draft is overrated tbh.

Kobe is a once in generation player ... fail. all wins are "team wins". but their was no HOF star in 2004
KG is also a once in a generation player too ...

Allen and Pierce were one way players before KG and Tibbs arrived ...

KG was 31, and past his peak when he got to Boston. Oh and where did he lead his team in Minnesota? And You're right. No star has performed worse in the Finals than Kobe, so that's once in a generation I guess.

He did not lead his team to a le as the man, in his prime. You also credited Tibbs for Boston winning.

I applaud HH for the humility in this thread, tbh. Kobe is a broken down s of himself yet spurfan still can't help themselves

What's worse is they're now harboring their in-state rival rocketfans because of their collective Laker insecurities...and as expected, rocketfan is only too happy to play the role of house after years of being on by Rogue, Thunder Dan, and every other fanbase on this forum. They sold out for an extra plate of pigs feet

Time & again Arn lures 'em closer by playing a bit of possum. Like when Roddy Piper used to lure some poor soul into his Pit with a promise that he wouldn't beat him up, or, slap him around. Sure as the poor sap would go in there-sit down and 30 seconds later Roddy would just kick the livin' out of him. That's what Arn does to these guys. It's a hoot.

This forum section doesn't really cater to the words discernment and intelligence, and sometimes it's bad but for the most part it brings the wittiest out of the good posters
