I'm thinking Cuaron wins Best Director and 12 Years a Slave wins Best Picture. Real question will be McConaughey or Eiwefor (whatever) from 12 Years, since this is the Crash/Brokeback Mountain conundrum again.

I thought Her was entertaining and interesting, but ultimately a little too weird and farfetched to get fully invested in.

Her was by far my favorite film of the year. By far.



(To be clear, I think 12 Years was a better film, but it was a bit too hard to watch to reach favorite status.)

That would be a shocker and well deserved since he was great in that movie. I think McConaughey would be a very deserving winner from what I've heard, especially since he's had one of the best renaissances I've seen from an actor. I'm still thinking Eijofor wins this though.
