Thanks again.
Here is the full video where you can see Parker waving to somebody in the stands, presumably a member of the Spurs medical staff. Parker was injured with about 7 minutes to go in the first quarter, but actually played until the end of it and didn't seem impaired at all.
Thanks again.
great, thanks! he wasn't limping, or grimacing, or stiff backed. maybe a slight back muscle strain or butt bruise
That's what he gets for flopping.
It doesn't even look bad in the video. I have seen guys get more serious back injuries during a game and then comeback a week or two later. If this is serious I won't even be upset because that means Parker was destined to get hurt it was inevitable.
On "The Starters" they showed Tony Parker sitting on a higher chair on the bench in the game against OKC (not like Phil Jackson did, but still ...), perhaps that already had something to do with his back ...
Rather than landing flat on his back, if you look at it he lands right on his tailbone. Could be nothing, could be serious. That don't do MRI's unless there some level of concern.
If it's a lingering thing, that would make more sense for the MRI.
It doesn't need to be extremely severe to be disabling. I pinched a nerve while moving furniture 20 years ago and it still flares up from time to time. And when it's really bad I can barely walk.
Unless he had a previous disc issue, it doesn't make sense they would be doing an MRI for a bulging disc. On the play in question, he twisted funny but did not land terrible hard. It could just as easily be muscular as structural. With what is at stake and the investment in these athletes and their health, it not at all out of the ordinary to do an MRI to get the best possible picture and information.
"don't do MRI's unless there some level of concern."
they do MRIs if you get a sniffle, is why (my) insurance company won't pay for highly abused, over used MRIs unless approved in advance.
Let him rest the rest of the way if need be.
thank god. i was almost worried for a sec
Ofcourse we need him to win it all. But he's not been himself all season and the team has been fine. I think he's just been waiting for the playoffs, hopefully this doesn't mess him up. We should've won anyway but if he doesn't get hurt in the finals we win.
Saw that my question was already addressed on pg. 2
No word on the MRI yet?
Tony was out clubbing last night, sleeping in late today.
This (from Tony's radio show) is quoting Tony today as saying it's nothing serious;

Translation: Nothing serious, was in pain, didn't want to risk it, been playing a lot, good news not serious, will follow-up with Pop and see when a return makes sense
rumor is he'll be getting one
Thats pretty good news! NOW SIT him until the playoffs and get two more wins.
Haven't any of you ever had back spasms before. Doesn't seem too serious at all and often your back even loosens up as it gets warmed up when playing. Often the back acts up (gets tight with some pain) and goes away in a day or two. If the playoffs started tomorrow Parker would be playing.
