And without the appeals process, there wouldn't even be a possibility of clearing someone later based on new DNA or eyewitness evidence, leading to even more wrongful executions - yet the appeals process itself doesn't even always protect against it.... it's a catch-22, which is why the death penalty just doesn't work in practice....
Another myth related to this: contrary to popular opinion, according to prisoners who have lived on both, death row is actually less dangerous and better than gen pop.... in gen pop, prisoners' risks of being raped, beaten and killed skyrockets....
My question is this: why do legitimate candidates for the death penalty deserve the extra tax dollars being spent on them, the less dangerous living arrangements, and the easy way out of quick death?
