Splitter is a scrub who plays 10min a game against good teams, his non selection is a non issue tbh...

Keeping up the good fight aas always.

Don't know how TP and cripples like Danny Granger can get votes but not Splitter, who's clearly one of the best defending Centers in the league.
Maybe next year. Reputations are made in the playoffs when national media pays attention to non-local teams. For example, the Finals last year elevated Kawhi's rep a lot (and justifiably so). So, this year Tiago got a lot of good press for his performances against Dirk and Aldridge. Of course, since those were the early rounds of the playoffs it might not have the same effect and be forgotten by next year's vote. If Tiago gets some burn in the Finals (and he might get to spend some time on Bosh), then it will help. Of course, based on last year's finals Tiago may hardly play.

Yup, unless you have eye popping stats (steals/blocks) you have to earn the rep. Last year Danny got the rep of being a great 3pt shooter if he does a great job on Wade (or whoever he ends up defending) then he'll start earning the defensive rep that he deserves.

True but this is still considered a regular season award and what rep has Granger earned to get votes in the last couple of years when he's been sidelined for most of that time? Now, in regards to the Finals, yeah, I don't trust Splitter in this matchup at all. He might as well be Jeff Ayres as far as the Heat are concerned.

I agree its supposed to be just for the given regular season. But "reps" matter and reps are made in the playoffs.

Agreed, I worry about Splitter. But he's been paying much better this year, so he might come through. We'll see.

While he'll probably never get the votes, Danny is a of a defender. If there were justice, he'd get serious consideration.
danny green's perimeter d is legit

Defensive accolades in the NBA are by far the most inaccurate and undeserved selections, as everybody should know by now, tbh..

Kawhi deserves it, though, but ya, none of the voters or even coaches actually pay attention or even give a (as evidenced by the Harden votes)..

The Warriors were actually one of the best defensive teams in the L surprisingly, its their O that held them back when you look at the metrics.

Still.. most of the D is due to Bogut being the best defensive anchor in the L when healthy. Plus, Iggy arguably isn't even the best perimeter defender on his own team, id give that to Klay Thompson.

Splitter really should have gotten more votes.
After this year's playoffs, he'd better get votes next year.

Westbrook is a better defender than Paul.
Allen is a better defender than Leonard, but I guess its a position thing.

The votes have to take into account the regular season where some of this guys take games off.

    Wow..

The only individual accomplishment that should be celebrated is finals MVP..

    Iggy, CP3...Unreal.

    Green, Allen, Kawhi

Westbrook missed huge chunks of the season though, and he's also not such a great off the ball defender.

That said, Paul is vastly overrated.
