i disagree about the pile on about the early NBA forum , it used to be pretty good. Too many posters that care about their internet rep and how cool they are now.
I think it has become difficult for a lot of these old-school users to continue posting and thriving without the ability to provide brilliant takes, such as:
"Omg, great post timvp"
"I agree with everything, timvp"
"Great take, timvp"
"I hate X player because timvp hates him"
"That G2G was so much fun, wasn't it, timvp?"
"Your family is so beautiful, timvp, Kori Ellis is the perfect wife"
"We need game thoughts timvp, where are the grades?!"

Who the cares? It's an escape for reality for most as well as a chance to talk about the Spurs (or other teams) with others around the globe. Stop making it more than it is.

The main thing is there are a lot of people that think they're witty, and just aren't. The trolls used to at least put in effort and bring something to the board, now it's the equivalent of Grade-School name calling and wasted bandwidth. The Koolaid guy or whatever his name is in the NBA Forum is pretty much the epitome of what the rest of this site has become.
The racism is ratcheted way up from what it was even 2 years ago, and there's a lot fewer people that want to have a legitimate discussion about basketball. I post on the Rogan Board a lot and have found that the NBA Thread there is 20x more coherent than most of the I find on Spurstalk these days. I even quit doing Game Thoughts (something I enjoyed) after a couple of weeks because there would be about 5 people that came in and disagreed/agreed and had stats or observations of their own to add in then about 50 guys wanting to flame/ ride Manu and Parker.
The front page of the Spurs forum reads like a bunch of ty Tweets from re s. I can remember one poster from the past that would do like this (SequSpur) and it was his thing. Everyone hated his ing threads, usually dumb les with 5-10 words that were just ing but at least he was an outlier from the rest of the group. Now? There's 1000 of these guys just spamming the dumbest that comes to their brains. take that back to your Instagrams and Twitter accounts because it's killing what was once an awesome place to come pass the time at.

Hey..... I somehow agree, but..... still a good place to get a laugh or two tbqh. It looks like there's an overpopulation of trolls though.
They don't call this the troll forum these days for no reason tbqh.
Until management starts banning obvious trolls and requiring a goddamn post count before starting threads, there's no point. The bad posters outnumber the good by at least 50:1like Slomo would say... do something about it
I don't disagree with that but I still like ST, I hate censored forum it's just plain awful. I believe the stupid threads are taking over because good posters don't bother anymore to talk bb, it's the story of the egg and the chicken, who came first...
Once again, please give me an example of the bball threads you are referencing here.... the ones with the good posters talking bball. Ive been here for SEVERAL years, and there are 2 extremes: the old 20k posters who just repeat how every move the FO makes is great and then tries to use any stat they can while said player plays to back it up....OR the stupid posts derived from media talk shows a la "Spurs are not the best against the best" or "Spurs play good defense"
I have yet to see a post where I actually thought, "damn, this person may have actually played basketball in a legitimate and compe ive league before."
If you can dig these up, I would gladly peruse. However, I think if you try, you will find one extreme or the other. This site is what it is; terrible for basketball iq, but awesome for a comedy show.
Everything starts from the top imo. The site only exists because of the owners, but it's gotten ty because of their apathy. People mention some of the terrible posters that arrived post MVPau as a turning point, but who approved their accounts? Also, wasn't the EC formed to improve the NBA Forums and most of their suggestions were disregarded?
I never understood why legit Spursfans like TDMVPDPOY were banned upstairs for dropping relevant truth bombs on Parker, yet ty and unfunny trolls post up here.
People talking about EVAY but she seems like a good person unlike some of the ST sociopaths. She obviously has a crush on Parker and overlooks his cheating, sulking ways. It's all good, it takes all types, as long as the Parker haters are given a platform as well.
I wonder if them selling it is true. I wonder how much it costs to run a site like this. Maybe they selling it to DPG who is supposedly related to them. DPG is a good guy, so if he takes over, it's time....for the Napoleonic Age.
Ultimately though, people at the top have veto power and it's up to them to set the tone. I like the freedom of the joint, as too much censoring creates a lifeless atmosphere, but letting things turn into an anarchistic wasteland creates a lifeless situation as well imo.

More than half of Spurstalk would be on my ignore list tbqh. It just seems like an awful lot of posters with no real added value to wade through for a decent take...now moreso than ever. It's just not nearly as good as it used to be. And it has nothing to do with timvp posting less either fwiw.
