Or a reality check? ..... they have been getting owned by scrubs for almost three decades now tbh
After thinking this clearly losing in South America to a young Belgium would be close to rock bottom for Argentina![]()
Or a reality check? ..... they have been getting owned by scrubs for almost three decades now tbh
Now I disagree on the locality thing....them Brazilians are making sure Argies don't get enough tickets and are filling the stadiums to support whoever plays Arg tbh
Doesnt matter. They are still just a few thousand km from their houses and family. And sure feel at home with their peeps around them. They are local.
Also to be fair its only posters here who need a reality check. I have been checking argentine news forums and them s havent stopped ing since Bosnia game
real argentines know their team has been ting the bed for decades save for 2006 and Pekerman led them and it took penalties with Germany to take them out
I have family in argie land...... they are disgusted with this NT..... and hate the coach a little more than they hate Missi (just a little) because the moron is connected to the actual government and think they'll use WC success (I know
) for their next campaign. A lot of argies are even rooting against them tbh.
just went for a walk in the Argentine news boards. here's the summary:
"Argentina got red carpet to the finals. Thank Grondona's mafia for that"
"Carlitos Tevez would have more goals than Missi"
"Argie coach should consult with Pekerman, or any other coach that actually knows something"
"Mascherano sucks and is finished"
truth bombs tbh

It's crazy to think that those Brazilians could sell those tickets for at least 1k USD to argentines (I imagine it will be more in quarters) yet they choose not to. If the WC was in Argentina I wouldn't wait a second to sell them, our world cup nemesis, gimme the money!
it's true, but, to be fair, peeps there are never satisfied... Back in 1986, Bilardo rushed the trip to Mexico because he thought he was going to get fired.Everybody hated him. He came back with the cup.
Not a fan of Sabella myself, but he's at least a real coach, unlike Diego or Batista. Perkerman would probably be my first choice. I didn't think he should've left.
I give you this..... that Manu guy wasn't satisfied with 6 .... and played his ass off to get 5 .... respect.![]()

That reminds me, the 1986 Champs with Diego qualified on a miracle goal at minute 81, to tie 2-2 with Peru in Argentina
that 2006 team really could have done something
they dominated Germany in that game and my man Riquelme created the 1st goal out of thin air. Then in the 2nd bad luck struck and Arg goalie went out injured. Also Riquelme was dead tired and had to be subbed by Pekerman. Unfortunately scrub Cambiasso came in to the bed and Germany scored.
then in penalties our ty sub goalie was demolished by German goalie who played with Argentine's minds by looking at a piece of paper after every penalty. and of course scrub Cambiasso missed the penalty
I was rooting for my man Riquelme, Carlitos Tevez and Pekerman those days

Pekerman's a great coach, but his subs utions patterns aren't the best. He's the kind of manager that is going to win by outplaying the rival, not by bringing some master stroke from the bench or giving an inspired speech. He replaced eternally TOSB Riquelme for Cambiasso and then Crespo for... wait for it... Julio mother ing Cruz. He had Aimar, Messi, Palacio, Saviola, all quick midgets to counter-attack Germany and he chose lumbering, slow as Cruz. Of course, Cruz lost a ball in attack and 2 minutes later the Germans scored. It still hurts
Also Pekerman was too much fair play and . When coaching at U-20 level he cared about his teams winning that award almost more than the proper trophy. You can never win against diving World Champs Holland and Germany without some dirty tricks under your sleeve.
he still took Germany to penalties in Berlin.
Probably the highest point in Argentina's history short of making the Finals imo![]()
lol Sabella trying out TOSB Demic is in place of Fernandez, might start
I don't know
Argentina doesn't look like a team just like Brazil. A bunch of talented players around relying on ISOs, especially from Messi/Di Maria. But Belgium doesn't look like a team either. They have a lot of talent, but not talent enough to submit Argentina. Belgium might have a chance counting on a defensive mistake, because defensively Argentina is really nothing special, but I still think Argentina wins here.

You like the move?
Sergio may be on the bench for tomorrow's game, he's looking better by the day.
Never heard of Basanta, tbh
We haven't had a noteworthy defender in a decade
Don't like the move. If Belgium moves Hazard to their right, we ed. Basanta esentially is a central back reconverted to left back. Good in the air and marking, but slow as and doesn't give anything in attack other than joining set pieces.
Hard to believe there's a worse defender than Rojo, tbh... but I believe you
