What if Vino doesn't want to retire after this deal? I just don't think that FO is in control at all.
IMO, their plan was to end the relationship with Kobe on good terms, but I don't see it going the way either party planned..
He's probably going to finish on another team IMO..
I've said on many occasions this guy wont retire after this deal. No way. Laker fans are gonna grow to loathe this guy and it will be a beautiful thing.
He could be a Clipper in a couple of seasons tbh. Heck he might even reach a buyout with them Lakers and sign with the Clips next year. That would literally end Clipper Nation tbh.
Another option would be for them Mavs. He'd be a perfect Vince Carter replacement.
After the way Cuban called him out?![]()
There is some real animosity there.
Cuban probably signs him for a year tops. I see no reason why he wouldn't if given the opportunity. Might as well make money by getting the Kobe fans on-board.
I could see that got going begging across the hallway, but hopefully he'd be told no after the he pulled in 2004. We already have a chucker at the 2 anyway, tbh.
Different ownership, FO and coach tbh. You don't think Ballmer would veto if Tom Rivers said no to Kobe? You're underestimating the Kobe stans tbh.
Name one team, besides the Spurs, that can survive three starters being out (including one of their top two players), plus a scoring punch player off the bench. This against a fully healthy Clippers squad. I agree that the bench could use some tweaking. Add in another scoring wing or a big man (mostly because of Jones' health...), but come on.
You'd know. You wrote the book.
At home.
