Unbelievable how wrapped up some of you get in the literal meaning of the Cons ution that reality completely escapes you. But I guess you'd be happy with someone stealing at least one of your two food rations with a gun pointed at your head. Maybe you'd be happy to fork over all of your water and your heart pills, and your kids' food while they are at it. I wouldn't.
I don't mind the extra security and inconvenience if it means my family and I might be a little bit safer. Those are extraordinary cir stances. If I were leaving a WalMart on a regular Saturday afternoon and got seached for no apparent reason, damn straight I'd be pissed.

our town is divided into two distinct areas though, you can almost see the line running east-to-west across the town
north part of town has majority white neighborhoods with houses that cost ~150K and up

Okay--I'm just trying to get an idea. Because to me, someone living in a $150k house isn't someone I would consider rich. Comfortable, yes, but not rich. I'm just trying to get a perspective.
Besides, it's a well known fact that mortgage companies will lend you money for a house you really can't afford.
