It never is one player or one play... we laid a gigantic egg in the 1st half, and we couldn't drag ourselves out of it. Should serve as a lesson.

I dunno what Tony has been about this season. It's been a rough season for him, but I'll take the past 3 weeks Tony over December/January Tony everytime.

What's undeniable is that the Spurs desperately need good interior D when Tony is out there, because he looks like a traffic cone on defense at times.
His defense has been awful and it's something Pop needs to account for with a better defender at the 2 than Beli. It was just a strange suggestion on your part that he was looking for his numbers, especially after a string of single digit games and few shot attempts.

I said he got his numbers last night.

That's another aspect that's new to Tony, he's been fairly inconsistent, something you kinda expect from older guys like Tim or Gino, but it was a rarity on Tony.

It's not a knock, I think he's learning to adapt to his new realities. I like the fact that he at least got some speed back...

This. Spurs lost because the Pelicans played better for 48 mins.

Parker is a scrub PG. The dude only ever really sets up Timmy.
In many of Kawhi's big games he was being assisted by..you guessed it..TP.

Don't you think that the fewer shot attempted also indicates that he doesn't care about having his numbers and is willing (too much sometimes) to let others shine?

I think what that means is that he's re-learning to pick his spots, which is fine.

Obviously, physically he's not what he used to be, and Kawhi becoming a legitimate offensive option also changes the complexion of the team.

Do people watch the games or just look at box scores before posting about the game?

I prefer the ball movement that doesn't involve TP dribbling all over the place.

Wouldn't doubt it if Green was mad at Matrix for choking a free throw in Game 6, which cost him a Finals MVP

Leonard has been crowned the man, he showed on numerous games he can take the ball everytime he ing wants and creates his own shot but you blame Parker to not give the ball in the 1st quarter ?
The entire team has been devastating on offense since that magic Feb. 26 date. 112.4 ORtg for the Spurs, 2nd place Golden State 109.8. Trying to act like the offense would be even better if Parker fed Kawhi the ball more often is naive.
Kawhi was the leading scorer in the season but also in the Spurs winning streak. Why let him parking in the corner now?

The facts show that he took more shots and was more effective when Tony was on the bench. We were talking this season about how much Leonard needs to be involved in the first minutes to maximize his production through the game, why he didn't get the ball in the first quarter last 3 games?

It's about Tony's offense emergence? It's Pop demanding TP's shots instead of involve Kawhi? Or something about Parker's age and get the best of him before the fatigue starting catch up to him? So how it works with Leonard, since he also needs shots early in the game to be comfortable and confident next quarters?

Whatever the reason, the Spurs didn't win games this season and last Finals with Kawhi parking in the corner.
Watching the last 2 games in where the leading scorer of the team rarely touched the ball in the first quarters, being mostly relegated to the corner like a 3's spot shooter...this isn't a successful way.

The only world that TP and Kawhi can't exist is in the heads of Spurs fans that post in Spurstalk. Both players are valuable assets to a team that has made reached the WCF and NBA Finals last three years. Stop making up.
Looking the numbers just in a few games this season both scored +20 points. Comparing with another duos in the league, they're very incompatible as offensive tandem
It seems like Pop has been unable to find a more distributed offense between these two guys.

Sure, but a good team is a good team, regardless..NBA teams that are "peaking" usually have a good combination of scheduling and in the Spurs case, desperation/health..
