Eh, I feel like the old sport could turn into a big sized RJ

The better, more rational, option would be to bring back almost everyone, again using their Bird rights, and then to use the Mid-Level ($5,464,000) and Bi-annual ($2,139,000) Exceptions to fortify the roster in July. Realistically speaking, once Gregg Popovich expressed the intention of bringing Duncan and Ginobili back, he essentially punted on a max free agent then and there. It's a safe bet that he had some intel telling him that those guys weren't ever going to pick the Spurs regardless. He told USA Today back in February that he expected Duncan to return, then expressed again he expected both Duncan and Ginobili back on the podium right after the Game 7 loss to the Clippers, and then hit on that message a third time with his end-of-season session with local media.

Seriously, free agency starts in early July and training camp isn't until September. Why would he be in such a hurry to leave Miami if he could just wait a month? It's not like Miami is a terrible place to live in the meantime.
The only thing reddit is good for is finding hot big breasted s imo
Bruce Bowen says what up.
That's more than made up by the income tax. Financially, there's no reason not to relocate to Texas.
Only problem is the Spurs would be hard pressed to create a max contract cap space unless Duncan retires.
Buford could end a lot of speculation by telling LA's agent: "We'd love to have LA, but bringing him in would probablly mean a lot of business decisions-- restructuring salaries, trades and/or releases of players. If he really wants to play in SA he already knows all the reasons, so just give us the respect of making a legitimate offer and we'll see if we can get close. We can't have you using us for a talking point while shopping the league if he is not really serious."
I have a feeling that a lot of FO negotiations with premier FAs go something like that--and that may be one reason we don't get the final nod after all these rumors. Virtually none of the rumors about big name free agents have come to pass because the player or agent was simply trying to put us in play as a ploy.
Unless Timmy retires (knock on wood), we're not getting LMA. We'd have to trade Splitter and another player (likely Mills or Diaw) just to create cap space. Not going to happen imo.
Classic!![]()
The key piece of the Reddit rumor / post was that he may take less on a shorter contract so that we wouldn't have to gut the roster to accommodate him. Then he opts out the second year and signs a fat contract under the new salary cap. It also states that he wants to play with Timmy so it would make sense that he would facilitate making that happen. If it does actually happen, it would mean he is a Spurs type character guy and would do well under Pop's watchful eye.
It also appears that LMA is moving out of his Portland home so he is likely going somewhere else, where exactly remains to be seen. As many others have stated above, he has many many reasons to want to come to Texas, if not SA specifically. LMA may well go to whatever team offers him the most money but since Portland can offer the most and he appears to be gearing to leave them, it would appear that money isn't the main factor in his decision.
All that being said, it's just a rumor and Reddit dude might be TPence ing around again.
We're not even in the Conference Finals yet.
Holy , this offseason is going to take forever.
maybe amount, but the no state income tax compared to Oregon's has to be significant.
See no reason why they wouldnt or cant move Splitter.
Unlike on this forum of for brains, hes a highly valued player in the league. Possible S&T candidate with Portland too because A, theyll need a replacement, B. they went after him in 2013.
A sign and trade comes to mind like the Blazers did with DA. You can get them to take a relatively-bad contract and a decent player in exchange for him.
Wouldn't that be illegal before July 1?
Yes, but it would most certainly end the speculation.
Grizz out of the playoffs in the 2nd round again. Gasol (who played pretty poorly overall this series, including his worst performance tonight) is never going to ring in Memphis imo. If I'm him, I seriously consider leaving. Doubt he will though.
Just get both of them.
Sure why not![]()

If it's for the minimum, why not?
