Which CCR songs?
I don't think anyone beats Jerry Lewis though.. as far as hours on the air total over the years for charity.
Which CCR songs?
Born on the Bayou was done by the Foo Fighters and Who Will Stop The Rain was done by Garth Brooks and some other people.
Thanks, I figure BotB would be one. WStR is kind of an interesting choice as you said -- could work on a couple of levels.
I didn't see the entire show, but the only act I enjoyed was the Foo Fighters. Randy Newmans' version of Louisiana 1927 sucks compared to Aaron Neville's. I hated all that screeching gospel crap that Alicia Keys and company did. Bono was okay, but the song was not helped by the overdone singing/screaming style of Missy Elliott (?) which is so common in the R&B world. I thought Chris Rocks comment about Bush hating midgets was pretty funny.
I thought that show sucked... they tried to copy the "unplugged" theme of the 911 benefit...
I would of made it Cajun themed or more Jazzy...
Did you miss the piano in so many songs? The southern rock theme? The gospel and jazz band? Mary J Blige singing One with U2?
There was nothing unplugged. I can't remember a single unplugged song.
Manny, which did you think were the best performances?
I thought Mary J Blige was ing awesome. The Foo Fighters were ok. I liked Paul Simon too - and now that I think about it his song was "unplugged" so thats one for Vashner.
For me, the best was either Randy Newman or U2/Blige.
I mean like the darkness and the colors...
Not the actual unpluggedness.
