Right. I could see the general consensus (outside of SA) being that you do that deal, but Diaw is such a crucial cog in the offense and I think a very good part of team chemistry.

Mosgov won't come it's a pipe dream but the one thing I liked about him during the Finals was his ability to catch the ball around the rim. Also he did a pretty good job of going straight up on defense rather than fall into players trying to block them
I read the room exception possibly in talks for west. Is that the only way of signing back Manu?

What would prevent signing West to a two year vet minimum deal with a player option after year 1 and then re-signing him to a 2 year, $22MM contract next summer when the cap hits the rumored $90MM level?

Right. I'm sure that's what the Spurs are discussing with him and/or his agent. Of course, if you want to draw attention to yourself in free agency, making public an intention to sign for the minimum with one of the last two NBA champions isn't a bad idea, if you have West's game.

I thought West wanted to go to a contender? If thats true then Washington isn't even in the conversation.
Could be that he wants to come here, but is trying whatever leverage he can to get more than the min, like the room exception.
