It really doesn't matter, as Pop already told him he expects him back... it's just a matter of Manu figuring out if he thinks his body will hold up and whether his heart is in it...
So being a part of la raza, which way is Manu leaning? I thought I heard he was trying to work himself back into shape, almost sounds like he's trying to talk himself into coming back another year. If that's the case I'm doubtful he's back.

But I still have hope since he hasn't said anything and I figure he would have told Pop right away to go sign West if he was ready to retire.

I used to talk to Gilmore before games, nice guy.
Never met him but I did meet Coby Dietrick,,,hes a nice guy as well,,,I remember going to a Black Sabbath/Van Halen show at Hemisfair,,,Van Halen's debut album,,,no one ever heard of them,,,people booed when Ozzy and Sabbath took the stage and played a few songs because Halen was so raw, energetic, and good,,,1978

Dude, Manu can play the 1, 2, or 3. That offers a lot of flexibility and extra depth. We absolutely need to sign him as we shift from an ultra deep, but even talented team to a highly talented, but less deep team. We desparately need his versality for 15 to 20 minutes a game.

Everything has been really quiet so far, tbh... his bro has been trolling a bit, but he comes off more like another fan that would like to see him play another year.

I suppose we'll know sooner rather than later, as I suspect the Spurs need to know by the 9th in which order to sign people...

It was cool in the Hemisfair days, the players were all down to shoot the before games. I was rebounding balls for Mark Olberding one time and he and my dad were talking, and Mark said he missed all the good Mexican pussy in San Antonio after being traded away. His teammate goes "Mark man, that's a kid there" and he says "It's ok, he likes good Mexican pussy too!"

Even at this his age, the spurs are in need of depth due to FA losses. Green is really the only SG the spurs have but they have to use him for spot mins though

The best thing ever regarding Hemisfair Arena was when Pat Riley was on David Letterman back in the 80's as the Laker coach. Letterman asked him what was the worst arena to play in as opposing team,,,,you'd think he'd say Boston or New York's Madison Square garden but he says Hemisfair Arena. Letterman asks him why and he says because it feels like the fans are on top of you and the building is moving off its foundations when they make noise. I wish there was a youtube or something else of that interview.

I think you're going to see a lot of Leonard at the SG this year to give Anderson some minutes. Man I hope they can land Manu and then get a ring chasing vet. Too bad Mike Miller is under contract, I would have loved to see the Spurs bring him in on a minimum deal.

No. Love Manu, but he is not helping on the court and him retiring would free up a lot of $ we could use right now.

His retiring would further exacerbate our new depth issue.

Yeah, I didn't see that CoJo was leaving before I opined. That said, there's still plenty of time left in the offseason.

For the first time in a long time, it looks like depth may be an issue for this squad. We definitely need Manu back for that reason and his leadership and veteran presence. He's still also good for a few buckets and still sets team mates up as well as anyone on the team. Even if he just plays 15mpg and has the occasional DNP-OLD I want him back. And besides, we need him on the bench to play 'cups' with Tim and Tony.

We need Manu more now than we did the past 2 seasons imo. With our bench being so thin right now, it's imperative he's on the squad next season.

Yes and no. Yes because I would hate to see him leave. No because he can't play like he used to anymore and all I saw last year was how tired and frustrated he looked out there. I want him to forget basketball and enjoy his life with his boys. We just need to find some other guys to come in for a few minutes and fill in for our starters.

Ginobili retiring would be a huge loss. His playmaking alone makes him extremely valuable. And that's not even factoring his compe iveness or any of his other priceless intangibles.

Maybe because he managed to lead the team in assists per minute... and 2nd in total assists... In other words, he's still a playmaker...

Ginobili had a PER of 16.2 last year and one of the best +/- ratings on the team... is there a SG out there who's better and will sign for the minimum?
