No, Thorpe was there in 1994. He was traded on Valentine's Day in 1995 for Clyde Drexler et al.

The Rockets had essentially the same roster the previous three seasons and were a matchup nightmare for the Bulls. And who cares if Otis Thorpe was the second leading scorer, they still won the le that year. Would you rather lose in the first round with DWade as your second leading scorer?

A funny list but be careful some will say this all part of your elevate Lebron plan. I dont agree with everything you say here especially your shots at MJ ... but folks here act as though if you say Mj has a flaw, it's sacrilege. Also The pippen thing doesnt get called out enough. Imagine if Russ, Harden, Dwight, cousins etc tried that in today's NBA?

Sorry didn't see the link you are right ...
There was a huge backlash against Pippen.

DK took two years off during his prime because of his gambling addiction
Or maybe he felt he had nothing to prove after winning 3 straight rings.

Define huge? Yes, some old school writers did call him out ...but overall Pippenhas lost little favor with most NBa fans ..in fact, his tea-bag dunk on Pippen, his mailmen dont deliver on Sunday line to Karl Malone get way more play in the story of his Legacy.

Time have just changed. HArlem is right with twitter, forums like this one the backlash would have been exponential.

Pippen's migrane game and his refusal to enter the game defined him, and it made Jordan look even better because it "proved" that Pippen is not a leader and need Jordan to babysit him.

It did by hard core fans. Casual fans, most of the media I think have given him a pass. This can not be proven it's just an opinion. Let's say Wade or Lebron did this for the Heatles it would have set the internet on fire.

Granted one of them happened 20 years ago, and the other one would be today.

Lebron still get those "not 2, not 3 .....", and "taking my talents" jokes thrown at him here and there, but nothing more vicious than Pippen not willing to check in.

Different won was born from hubris (LeBron) the other was false, wounded pride (Pip)

My point is I have seen here and other places Pippen mentioned as the GOAt sidekick and this isnt brought up. Granted he was the Alpha, #1 when he pulled this crap not a #2 ...just feel as former coach it's one of the worst acts of insubordination and was potentially more damaging than anything Rodman, Jr. rider, ricky davis or plenty malcontents have done to undermine a coach and sabotage his own team. I used to coach. Sprewell and Artest actions were worse but outside of crazy stuff like that, a player refusing to enter a game is pretty damn low.

However, Phil and eventually MJ smoothed that out. It's funny we hear so much of him speaking on Lebron vs. Mj etc. Why doesnt he speak more about that?

No question it was a horrible act of insubordination, and part of that has to do with the Kukoc situation, which was really the root of the entire Pippen hissy fit, but to say him refusing to enter the game is more damaging than what Rodman, Rider and Davis did with their prolonged locker room issues could be stretching it.

Jackson and MJ smoothed it out because they both hated Krause, and especially this entire thing about Kukoc being the saviour and stuff. Both Jordan and Pippen went out of their way to embarrass Kukoc in Barcelona to prove a point.

Not sure about why Pippen speaks more about Lebron than Jordan, perhaps Jordan's assholeness ticked off Pippen?

Finally, Pippen is no question one of the GOAT sidekicks. It's between him, McHale, Kobe, and Magic.

OP wants lebron to be the goat so badly but the only way to rationalize it is to bash DK's easy era

Lebron shouldn't have been such a it's that simple.
