Tiago is the missing piece right now. If the Spurs had somehow been able to keep him instead of West (cough, Parker's extension, cough), then the team would be rocking right now.
Careful sir, might be called torta eater forever

Really the problem is that we miss a C who can play D against most teams. Tim Duncan saves us but it's not ideal. Without him his team would suck tbh. No rim protection and bad d from our PG.
    Sooooo much this!

Tristan Thompson instead of Lma woulda been rings. Instead, this is gonna go full Richard Jefferson days after a disappointing playoff bounce.

WE missed Tiago last year, with as many injuries as he had. A healthy Tiago would have made a difference in our RS record and our series against the Clippers. WE miss him now too, West is nowhere near his vecinity on D.

Once LMA is more comfortable in the system, no one will miss Tiago. I am already loving Aldridge's rebounding! Cannot wait to see him in a couple months!
If hes not 15 pounds lighter in a couple months we'll be ed anyway.

Tiago is playing well. Miss him too, but LMA was the right gamble to take. Buyer's remorse is natural at this early stage. I think Aldridge will end up being a beast for us!

They also could've traded Diaw instead.

Trade Diaw you'd have to trade Mills too. But I agree that Tiago is a better fit with West than Diaw is

Tiago would've been a better fit on the second unit alongside West or Diaw. But moneywise they made the right decision. If it's between Splitter or Aldridge, you take Aldridge.

No reason for you to do it, most of them are accomplishing that by themselves just fine.

Signing LMA was smart, and not even risky at all-- the salary cap is going to jump dramatically in the near future and both LMA's and Kawhi's deals will look like incredible bargains. Max deals in two years will be in the 30mil+ range... In the worst case scenario, if LMA never acclimates or fits in with the Spurs, he'll be easy to trade... I don't anticipate that happening, but either way, it was brilliant strategizing by RC & Pop.

I've been wondering if there is a chance Roy Hibbert doesn't work out with the Lakers and if he could eventually get bought out. Anyone here know how he's fitting in there? I was thinking about that the moment he was traded there. I think if he's bought out then the Spurs would be his number 1 choice.

A try on Hibbert would be nice ... but first I really would like to see Boban getting some more playing time to see if he is able to perform with the second unit

thats why I said try out Boban first ... but if that does not work out, Hibbert is an accomplished NBA player, a center and a player who worked out frequently with Timmy over the summer

Only Tiago and Kyle were able to understand what Coach Bud wanted to say. And Bazemore, well, you stand in the corner and shoot from 3 pointer when you get the ball.
