The biggest difference between Bertans and Bonner is that Bertans not afraid to shoot. He doesn't care if he missed his 5 previous threes or if a defender is right on his hip. You definitely won't have to beg him to take open shots.

That'd be a steep price to pay and a disappointment. They should have the cap space to give him a $4M/2 deal with pure cap space, even accounting for everything else.

Yes, and that's what I've been assuming for a long time. The room exception is quite a bit bigger than that, though. The reason why it would be a disappointment is because it could break up what is actually a pretty good asset, when they'd have the cap room is Duncan just made his damned decision.
